Once upon a time, some brave and bold men and women of the midwest convinced the founders of Spartan to put a race on in their town. Less than a year later, its a vertiable movement. We will talk to two of the founding members. They've also been very supportive of this show so maybe a few more will call in. I will also play my interview with Mike Morris. Some call him an evil genius for what he puts participants through. The candid conversation answered a lot of my questions. It also opene

In Part 4 of Beyond The Arc's 7-part college basketball preview, Bryan and Steve talk about the Big Ten storylines, teams and players that could keep the conference on top as the premier college basketball conference.
Our hosts will look back at the amazing 2012-13 Big Ten season that saw 4 teams finish the season in the AP Top 10, 4 teams reach the Sweet 16, 1 team reach the national championship game, and 2 of 4 first-round NBA draft picks selected in the top 4 as underclassmen.
As the 2013-14 season begins, all eyes will be on the state of Michigan where two of the top teams in the country reside. Tom Izzo's Michigan State Spartans and John Beilein's Michigan Wolverines have the talent and experience to make deep runs in the NCAA tournament and matchup for an epic showdown that could determine the Big Ten champion. How will their seasons unfold?
Other storylines that will be discussed include: expectations for Aaron Craft and Ohio State in the shadow of Michigan and Michigan State, how Indiana replaces four 1,000 point scorers who changed the culture of the program, whether Iowa is ready to return to the NCAA tournament, and does the Big Ten have more than 5 teams strong enough to make the tournament in March.
On the show, we take a look back at the 14-0 loss at Michigan State, and what areas the Boilermakers played better and where they need to improve.
And we will talk a little basketball too, after Purdue held a scrimmage Saturday as the 2013-14 season is just around the corner.
The Michigan State Spartans put their 3-0 record to the test when they invade South Bend on Saturday, for a matchup with rival Notre Dame.
Joe Rexrode of the Detroit Free Press is scheduled to join us to discuss the Spartans' chances of pulling the upset.
We'll also look back at Michigan's nearly disastrous performance against Akron. Was that game simply a poor showing or a sign of trouble ahead?
Also, we'll open with some thoughts on the 1-1 Detroit Lions. What's been impressive and depressive throughout the first two weeks of the young season?
