Are you ready for some Spartan football? We're talking to coaches and a player or two on this issue of Spartan Life Radio. The Spartans return 15 starters from last year's team and welcome a promising recruiting class of freshmen and transfers this year. Join your host Michael Cotter as he talks football with Spartan head coach Latrell Scott. The Spartans will be led coach Scott, who comes to NSU after compiling a 19-4 record, one CIAA championship and an NCAA Division II playoff victory over a successful two-year stint at Virginia State. The Norfolk State football team opens its 2015 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Non-conference games include matchups with Rutgers University, ODU and Marshall, all on the road. Home games include MEAC contests with Hampton, North Carolina A&T, Savannah State and South Carolina State.

On this weeks show we are going to be talking about the Sacramento Spartan Sprint that Team J and Jay Drop Knowledge just ran in. J, Jay, Little Mike, Expert Chris, and Gallery of Nuts all competed in the Race. It was 5 miles and 23 obsticle. We went in clean and happy and left wet, muddy, cut, scraped, and unhappy.
J is on his way to Disneyland with his family for the 60th and vacation.

Norfolk State University will host its first Day of Giving beginning Thursday, September 17, at noon and ending Friday, September 18, at 11:59 p.m. The Day of Giving is a 36-hour fundraiser to honor NSU’s 80th Anniversary. The goal is to raise $80,000 in support of our students. Our guest will be Dr. Deborah Fontaine, Interim Vice President for University Advancement at Norfolk State. The Encore Whitney Houston Tribute (November 1) kicks off a week-long celebration of Norfolk State's Homecoming 2015. This year's theme is "The Best is Yet to Come" and about 30 events have been planned for the week of November 1-7. From the Hoops and Hip-Hop Tour, a bonfire, a couple of concerts, Spirit Fest, the Homecoming Game against Savannah State and the best food this side of the Mason Dixon line at tailgate, the NSU Homecoming week is going to be off the chain!
