•Lead writer for the South Bay’s Coordinated Entry System grant applications 2014 and 2015 funding

•SBCEH lead coordinator for the 2015 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count. Beginning in 2005, this HUD-mandated census is held every other year in late January.

•Served as the South Bay Project Manager for the CES “Scale-Up” South Bay team from November 2013-April 2014.

After Nancy received her Information Sciences Bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Cruz, she worked for TRW at its Redondo Beach “Space Park” location until the mid-1990’s.  During her engineer career, she worked in the area of software development for “command and control” and satellite projects. She developed her leadership skills first as a section head and later as a subproject manager while at TRW.

Prior to joining SBCEH, Mrs. Wilcox volunteered at the Torrance Unified School District, most notably at South High School, where she worked in its library for 8 years.

    South Bay Women’s Conference

    in Current Events

Our returning guests this morning are Bibi Goldstein and Linda Buffington of the South Bay Business Women’s Association.

Bibi Goldstein is the owner of Buying Time, LLC and an active member of the South Bay business community. She is the immediate past President of the South Bay Business Women’s Association and current Chair for the South Bay Women’s Conference. She served as a committee member (2008–2012) and past chair (2011–2012) for Manhattan Beach Women In Business, was past President of the Kiwanis Club of Manhattan Beach and a member of the 2011 class of Leadership Redondo. In addition to co-authoring several books, she is also a contributing writer to Today’s Innovative Woman magazine. Bibi lives in Redondo Beach with her husband Mark and daughter Julie.

Linda Buffington has been on a mission to share the message of health and nutrition for the past 11 years. It is such a change from how she lived her young adult life as most of her meals were from fast-food restaurants or made from pre-packaged foods. Through research and some luck she was led to Juice Plus+, a whole food-based fruit and vegetable supplement. Linda is currently President of the South Bay Business Women’s Association. Not only did Linda grow up in the South Bay, but she also raised her two sons here as well. She believes it is an honor to serve this community and be able to pay it forward from all she received.

This morning, our guests are going to share with us all the details of this year’s South Bay Women’s Conference which takes place on Friday, May 8 at the Torrance Marriott South Bay.

A Just Cause Coast 2 Coast - Victims Behind U.S. Prison Walls

    in US Government

Lamont Banks, Dennis Merritt and Lisa Stewart of the Colorado exoneration firm A Just Cause, discuss what happens when the wheels of justice trample unbridled over the rights of innocent Americans.

Although the American system of justice is the most-respected worldwide, it is still a system designed, and operated, by humans, which means it's not perfect. Lamont, Dennis and Lisa will highlight ongoing struggles against "the system" to free wrongfully imprisoned people, and what happens when justice miscarries against an actually innocent person.

Our Special Guest for tonight's show is Danny Salado, who is advocating to stop prison abuse and neglect in our U.S. prisons. He recently lost his brother Ronald Salado on April 2, 2015, who was serving time at a Florence Correctional Complex in Colorado due to prison abuse and neglect of medical treatment.

A Just Cause is currently campaigning for "FreeTheIRP6," who's been wrongly imprisoned in Florence, CO for a crime they didn't commit. Read full story: www.freetheirp6.org.
