Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey - with Carl Stanley!
You may know the name Carl Stanley already - many already do, including some "heavyweights" in the business who have hired Carl to lend his sax to their appeal :-D
Roy Ayers is one of those who heard something special in the way that Carl plays. Three years of touring with a legend taught our guest more than playing ten years with anyone else!
There are three artists in the United Kingdom that have made ears perk and cash registers ring: Mica Paris, Will Young and Andy Abraham. And Carl has played with all three.
In 2011, our triple threat (alto, soprano, tenor sax) joined forces with Peter White - and it paved the way for all the pieces to fall together for Carl's "A Beautiful Thing" - released in 2012.
So appropriately titled...this delicious project features friends that add perfect magic to an already fabulous mix. Guitarist Dwight Sills, vocalist Gianna, and pianist Oli Silk work with that velvet sax to create some of the best contemporary Jazz that we have.
We'll hear three of those twelve originals when Carl Stanley joins us on Tuesday, May 14th. You'll hear him at the start of the show: one p.m. Eastern - and just about the time they get their groove on in London :-D
