On Jan. 21 at 1pm eastern, you can join a special, one-hour Dark Reading Radio discussion devoted to the Sony hack and the issues that may arise from it. Hosted by Dark Reading editors Tim Wilson and Sara Peters, the discussion will feature expert guest speakers and will address a wide range of questions, including:
Was the attack really perpetrated by North Korea, and how did they do it?
What could Sony have done to prevent it? How could they have responded differently?
If the threat of further attacks prevented theaters from showing a movie, could cyber attackers use similar methods to stop other organizations from conducting business?
What implications/conclusions should security pros draw from this attack?
This online radio program will not only allow you to listen in, but you can also ask questions of the experts and participate in a chat-style online discussion.
The film The interview" about an assassination plot on the Head of North Korea Kim Jong Un may have become to popular comedy. Or it may have faded away in obscurity as another bad movie. We'll never know, Sony Pictures has chosen not to release the film to the theaters, based on the theater owners' decision not to play the film and risk threatened terrorist attacks. Some say Americans shouldn't let foreigners tell them what kinds of movies they can watch. But was the movie in poor taste from the beginning? Should it have even been made in the first place? And is the assassination of a government leader ever funny? How should President Obama respond to North Korea and to Sony?

almost as if on cue Sony and their situation with hackers exploded into an international dilemma.
While everyone has been admonishing Sony for their decisions to not release The Interview and hating North Korea we'd like to propose an alternative: some one hacked them, and let Sony's fears play themselves into a damaging situation all while laughing at everyone who wants to throw their money and Sony to see a movie they didn't really care for in the first place.
Our final (serious) live show of the year as the four banditos explore the following topics:
- Sony Entertainment is hacked, and the hackers are threatening more
- Paul brings us a police brutality video
- The CR was passed to fund the government...among other things
- A whiny Harvard Law student responds to criticism about requests to delay exams in wake of Michael Brown decision - we criticize further?
This week we'll discuss all the stuff that's spilled onto the internet due to the massive hack and leak suffered by Sony.
Plus we'll entertain the idea about a show that takes place on a planet that explodes. is it plausible? (It's not.)
as a bonus Kai will tell us about her past life as a privateer!
that was a lie...but who knows?
