MORNING TALK WITH THE RED HAWK...JUST START SOMEWHERE

    in Lifestyle

Good morning, good morning, GOOD morning!!!  Happy Friday, ya'lls.  Man, oh, man, you know it's been one "heaven" of a week, but it's o.v.e.r. for some of us. Anywho, as I lay in the bed, just after waking up, and thanking God for another day, the words, "just start somewhere," entered my head.  I'm like, okay, is that the topic of today?  Why not, sounds good to me.  So today's topic is, JUST START SOMEWHERE.  A lot of times, we have ideas of things we want to do, things we might want to stop doing, but don't know how to get to a starting point. Well, starting something, begins in the mind, so make up your mind, that you want to start somewhere, on a particular journey. Put one "foot" in front of the other, and go.  Perhaps you don't know where to go, how to go, but trust, there are others who've gone before you.  Seek someone out, a mentor, someone who has already been there, done that.  That's a great starting point, but whatever you decide to do, JUST START SOMEWHERE, so that there CAN be an end to your journey.  Please don't hesitate to drop me an email or a love offering at redhawk1967@hotmail.com, using http://www.paypal.com, or perhaps you need my services, which can be acquired by visitng my business website, http://theredhawk1967.wix.com/stwrhtheshow.  Thanks in advance for any outreach you decide to do

Sixers will be a powerhouse someday, but when?

    in Basketball

It is easy to declare the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Milwaukee Bucks the winners of trade deadline day, because both will be in the playoffs and both made exceptional moves.

But the team I have declared the bigest winner of all is the Philadelphia 76ers, because they were able to get their hands on the Top 5 protected pick that the Los Angels Lakers owed to the Phoenix Suns. It is never easy trading away a player as good as Michael Carter-Williams, who is the reigning Rookie of the Year. But having a chance to build a team that can be a powerhouse for a full decade is an opportunity not to be dismissed, and general manager Sam Hinkie has put his team in that position.

Not everyone agrees with me, and the patience of fans in Philadelphia is being tested.

Also, Hinkie is getting a lot of criticism for tanking the season, but if the rules give a team an incentive to tank, what is wrong with operating within the rules?

I debated the Sixers situation, the wisdom of it, and the chances of it succeeding, with Jody MacDonald and Josh Innes on WIP Radio in Philly. Enjoy.

Man and Machine: How Wide the Divide? -- Write Stuff -- 3/3/2014

    in Radio

Last week, we attempted to do this show but had a number of technical difficulties. Whoever said God has a sense of humor hit it on the nail. Imagine the irony! Well, we're going to try again this week so join us.

It's the stuff of sci-fi -- when man and machine combine so perfectly it creates a whole new being - a cybernetic organism where the artificial implants and the natural impulses fight for dominance. This is when speculative fiction really comes to play as we express ideas and thought about this unique quality of man's intelligence and the machines we create to serve us.

In today's world, we see an increasing dependence on technology and machinery to make our lives easier, our work faster, our interactions more spontaneous, and increase the quality of our lives. From pacemakers, to prosthetic limbs, and chips to be implanted in us to track us, one has to wonder how wide is the divide between man and machine?

Will this dependence affect our free will? Can we eventually 'turn off' the sectors in our brain to stop us from making bad choices? If we want our children to have certain color eyes, we can manipulate the genes to do that and come with the child of our design. With all these possibilities, how will it affect our thoughts on faith, morals, and values? Will we be overridden by the machine someday and...”sin no more?”

Join me for this fascinating discussion with author Frank Creed. You can call in at 646-595-2083, press 1 to be live on air. Or, you can download the WLUV radio mobile app today. Tune in!

God Says-Do not Be Afraid I am With You

    in Lifestyle

Most of us are going into a different time in our life somewhere strange to us.  As God did not leave Jacob alone as he sent Jacob to a new and strange land, He will not allow us to be a lone either.  Making a stange move is difficult, but do not allow it to parslyze your success.  God will always have people to help walk you through.

Remember this ministry is taking donations for children's education and basic needs.  As you give God will press it down and add more to it and over flow your cup.  You will be blest as never before.
