She has over 20 years of experience in the field of education and has an ongoing commitment to her personal and profession erotic learning. Lorna says, “No work is more joyful or important than supporting people in feeling at home in their bodies and their own sexuality. As a Somatic Sex Educator, education begins with me. I educate first by living eros from the inside out, and then I support people in doing the same in their own lives. In a segment of her training and coaching practice, she helps parents draw on their deep desires for their children and young adults learn to address independence and boundary issues.
Barbara is Director of the Schools Conflict Resolution Education Program at the Center for Dispute Resolution at the University of Maryland King Carey School of Law. She provides training in Maryland and nationally and is a recognized as a Champion of Conflict Resolution Education.
Stephen Kotev is a Washington D.C. based conflict resolution consultant offering mediation, negotiation, conflict analysis, facilitation, training and somatic education to private and government clients. He holds a Master of Science degree from George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution and a black belt in the Japanese martial art of Aikido.

The first years of life in a child's development
A child's first year of life is critical for her development. Little attention however, has focused on the mother's experience/development during this time. Our guest, Dr. Becky Brittain, will talk with us about the dynamic "dance" that goes on between mother and child during that time.
Becky Brittain received her doctorate in prenatal and perinatal psychology from Santa Barbara Graduate Institute. As “The Mothering Coach” she works with expecting couples, families, infants and children to enhance optimal development and to address with issues of adjustment, attachment, regulation and birth trauma in her studio in St. Louis, Mo. She integrates the new brain science in all of her work. Becky is a registered dance-movement therapist. She received her masters with this specialization from U. C.L.A. She currently works part-time with adolescents and adults with eating disorders at McCallum Place where she facilitates authentic movement and creative arts therapy work. She was chosen by the Andrea Rizzo Foundation (Drea’s Dream) to start a dance therapy program with pediatric cancer patients at Cardianl Glennon Medical Center She teaches a course in Somatic Psychology at Washington University in St. Louis. the new She started the provision of undergraduate dance therapy classes there. Becky’s artistry facilitates creative discovery of potential with body mind spirit integration for all ages in the dance of life.

Carolyn is a mediator, teacher, trainer and conflict coach. Certified by the Maryland Council for Dispute Resolution, Carolyn is qualified to mediate for the Maryland Circuit and District Courts. She has been an active trainer for mediators and for service providers in elder mediation, issues around aging, and mediation skills since 2001. Carolyn was a co-founder and first tri-chair of the Elder Decision-Making Section of the Association for Conflict Resolution, and chairs its Training Standards Committee. She is an adjunct professor at Shepherd University and at Anne Arundel Community College where she has taught in the Institute for the Future and teaches in the Continuing Professional Education Department. She was a co-founder and served as Director of Training for Senior Mediation and Decision-Making. Carolyn authored a chapter in Pre- & Post-Retirement Tips for Librarians (American Library Association, 2012).

How to Support the Capacity of Women to Succeed
This week Dr. Elvira will speak with Gina Stracuzzi, founder of e-Women: International Mentoring Network. They will discuss the importantce of supporting the capacity of women to succeed.
Ms. Stracuzzi worked in marketing communications for the commercial and nonprofit sectors, in U.S. and Europe for many years before deciding to do something different. She was motivated to make this change after adopting her daughter, Talia, from Guatemala and experienceing a country so rich in natural beauty yet struggling with vast poverty and inequities. This left an indelible impression, and guided Ms. Stracuzzi to a career change and fueled her desire to someday help her daughter understand the hardships people in her birth country face. After researching projects and efforts underway at the time to help Guatemala and its people, she came to understand that like a lot of developing countries, Guatemala is a class-driven society in which marginalization, poverty and chronic malnutrition are grimly interconnected. She decided to pursue a career in Global Health Communications by obtaining a graduate certificate in Global Health.
Since then, Ms. Stracuzzi has been working in the health and development field and as a coach to health professionals from around the world. She has traveled to Guatemala professionally, giving her additional opportunity to experience the country and its people more intimately.
Most recently Ms. Stracuzzi started e-Women:International Mentoring Network which provides coaching and mentoring to women in developing countries, like Guatemala, who are starting businesses and careers. Driven by the belief that when a person is mentored, two people grow, eWomen also gives the women who volunteer their time as coaches and mentors the opportunity for a rich and rewarding experience that has a direct impact on the life of another woman.
