SORT BY Relevancy
The writings of Thomas Merton never lose relevance! Frequent listeners know that we visit the well of his words pretty often. This week we are getting together to talk about solitude - funny to think that we don't have to be alone to do that! We sure hope you join us!
Join host MJ Hannigan for tonight's episode of Knightly Reflections we will be discussing the importance of solitude and ways to find it
It is true as humans we often desire the need for relationships be it friends or romantic it does not matter we desire to have others near. Yet what happens when we find ourselves in a world of chaos and life becomes overwhelming? These are the times when we need our space and need to seek solitude.
On tonight's episode we will be discussing the value of solitude, and sharing ways of finding it in the craziest of days.
Love and Light
Welcome back! Tonight our topic will be the power of Solitude. In a world where we are all connected and have 24/7 access to everything and everyone; solitude is an important gift and practice. Here is a quote from my book Thirty Day Journey Toward Transformation:
"I restore myself when I'm alone" Marilyn Monroe

The Universal Law of Solitude affords us the most amazing experience ever. It is the end result of The Universal Law of Silence, which we discuss last week. Like silence, the Universal Law of Solitude plays an integral role in the creation of what we are wanting to manifest in life. Understanding the subtle nuances of how the Laws work can be the difference between manifesting what you want for your life, and living a life trying to manifest what you are wanting.
Join me, Dr. wendy Dearborne choice expert and coach and Olivia Lashley expression coach and artist as we delve deeply into the Universal law of Solitude and what that may mean to you.
Solitude, By Prophet Dr. David Owuor:
Only the Holy Spirit of GOD has the authority and the power to prepare the Church for the RAPTURE because the Holy Bible emphasizes that without Holiness, no one will be able to see The LORD (Hebrews 12:14). Holiness is a benchmark that The LORD has stressed in every Scripture and cannot be taken for granted.
HE requires absolute Holiness in the nature of The LORD in all that the Church does. In the book of 1 Peter, chapter 1 verse 15, The LORD appears to call the Church to a very high level of uncompromised complete Holiness, a level that when one evaluates the circumstances around which the Church !nds herself, one would say it is absolutely impossible to achieve within the framework set up in today’s Church. In this Scripture, The LORD asserts affirmatively HIS position on Holiness when HE says,
15 But just as he who
called you is holy, so
be holy in all you do;
16 for it is written:
“Be holy, because I
Therefore, the standard of Holiness that The LORD has called the Church to live in, is absolutely high and there is no way the Church can achieve this level without the help of the supernatural transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

Many ideas have been created when the author, inventor, or creator is at peace. When the mind is stressful, one cannot think clearly or hear clearly, and the small still voice cannot be heard. Just think if George Washington Carver had not gotten up at 4am to take a walk of solitude, we would not have the great inventions from the peanut. If Joel Olsteen did not spend quiet time with God, we would have books to encourage us to continue this walk. Yes, we need our peace to maintain a productive life, however, the products of our peace is not just for us. It is for our childen, generations to come, our friends, family, co-workers, and those who God puts in our path. Our peace will help us encourage others to develop their gifts and talents.
There was once a time when men used to be real men. When they dressed with style, when they had a certain honor code they followed that involved treating not only their elders and each other with respect, but women alike. Unfortunately, those days are far- gone — a thing of the past. What we have now is… to be quite honest, I’m not sure.
There are of course certain men out there who still have their affairs in order, but we are few in number. What people are most often subject to is the company of boys who are refusing to grow up and man up — boys who prefer to play with their toys than to do their part in bettering society, the human race and the world as a whole. These poor excuses for men have the bodies of adults and the mentalities, as well as the social outlook of toddlers. Horny toddlers, but toddlers nonetheless.
It’s all about character — or in this case, the lack of character. Something has been happening during this era dubbed the “information age.” Social media platforms have taken away the need to interact face to face, taking away the need for actual interaction. This is great in many regards: you can now keep in touch with friends and family all over the world from a handheld device.
Character is most often built during those moments between activities, during moments of solitude and reflection. Men no longer feel the need to pause and reflect because the options for whatever it is they want are only a click away. The options are endless and therefore we never truly experience disappointment.
It’s awful because women are becoming accustomed to such boys and believing that these pansies are all that is left of our sex. Some great women are settling for these fools and then finding that they themselves have no choice but to wear the pants in the family because their “man” is PMSing.
