Encouraging Words For The Weary Soldier

    in Christianity

John 14:27 says "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."  It seems as though those are the very words we need to be reminded of today doesn't it? Encouragement for all troubled hearts and minds. When your weary from the battles of life and are seeking refuge, where, who or what do you turn to first? So, it seems God truly understood this when he said these encouraging words to His disciples. Because its just what they needed to hear, and so do we. Until the Lord makes his return, we don't seek to just "hang in there" we seek to overcome daily by the Spirits sword. Yes, as that day comes we must understand that the world, its ideals, patterns, temptations, enticements and way of living and thinking will become more vile, sensual and fleshly. And if your weary from all that.....your not alone. And so God lovingly encourages us to fine rest in Him, and Him alone. These are encouraging words for you......the weary soldier today.

Mitt Romney's announcement that he will not run for president in 2016 has brought the field of candidates into focus. Is Jeb Bush really the frontrunner now? Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker impressed audiences in Iowa last week, but so did Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. Who will emerge as the favorite among the grass roots? Rand Paul has a passionate core of followers. Will a foreign policy vision that some view as isolationist be a turnoff to voters? Lurking in the background is Hillary Clinton. Which GOP contender would fare best against her? We will cover all angles of the field for the next presidential race.

O bom soldado / The good Soldier

    in Religion

You therefore endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Nobody militating entangles himself with the affairs of this life in order to please him who enlisted for the war.
And if a man also militates, is not crowned unless lawfully. 2 Timothy 2: 3-4
