An impromptu, post-Christmas episode brings us Flynt & Paisley discussing gay marriage, sacraments, bakeries, kids in glasses, dimetap, Sons of Anarchy, and the awesomeness of Trey Parker & Matt Stone. (Editor's Note-This was recorded about 3 months before Nebraska's stupid constitutional ban on gay marriage/civil unions was struck down; that still seems to be tied up in court so who knows what'll happen here.)
Patrick Davis, CEO of Davis Brand Capital and co-founder of StandUp Foundation, gave a talk on “Entrepreneurism for Social Change: Making the World Better, One Company at a Time” at Stetson University in February 2015. A Stetson alumnus, Davis believes the future is being shaped by “socially minded capitalists” – business and community leaders who answer new generational priorities and shifting market needs with brands that are based on a purposeful blend of entrepreneurism and social justice. His presentation was part of Stetson University's Social Justice Lecture Series, which focuses on social justice to explore issues central to the university's mission and values. Read more about Davis and the lecture series in this Stetson Today article.

There is nothing like being emotionally moved by a piece of art. Whether it be a painting, sculpture, or some other form of creativity; the overall impression can be lasting and coerce us to rethink how we view ourselves and the world around us.
Manifest Justice is a large-scale pop-up art exhibition, cultural convening, and community organizing event taking place in the Baldwin Hills area of South Los Angeles. Unlike other civil rights exhibits that highlight events from the 60's, Manifest Justice is hauntingly current. Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, and Oscar Grant are but a few of the many victims who have been immortalized through the works of over 150 artists.
Tonight I will be joined by Nijeul Xavier Porter, a young man who is instrumental to the success of the event; and Gabriel Garcia Roman, an artist who has works on display at the event. Both will share why the event is important -especially in today's social climate-and what it means to be a part of the experience.
