ABOUT OUR GUEST
Yakiri Thomas is a southern girl with southern charm, and a Sports Enthusiast especially for her home teams (Hawks, Braves, Falcons, UGA and GA Tech.) Born in Decatur, GA and into a preacher’s family, she realized her creative side at a young age by creating stories and songs at the age of 8.
In 2008, Yakiri found herself at a crossroads with her career. Soon after, she became reacquainted with what came natural, which was writing. Within months, her first novel, "Black Socialite" was written followed by "Too Far to Turn Back: Tales of a Preachers Kid." With several other novels in the works, her new career as an author has now begun.
Yakiri is an advocate for Alzheimer's Research. She currently resides in Atlanta with her husband, their four beautiful children, and Leo, their Maltipoo dog.
As we are in tulumutous economic times being seen and connecting with the right audience has become tougher than ever; whether you are an author, entreprenuer or in management effectively marketing your brand is vital. However, you don't just want to brand yourself, you need to become an Online Socialite.
For a brand to build momentum, grow and expand, consistent engagement is required on multiple platforms. Online networks as well as groups and communities are ready to feel your presence.
This is where the interview with Sandra Gabriel, President of Gabriel PR comes in. Journey with Tabitha Vinson as she interviews Gabriel in this episode of Becoming An Online Socialite.
A lot of gays from other cities view Los Angeles as a social mecca complete with upscale clubs, chic restaurants, and celebrity sightings on every corner. They also believe it to be a safe-haven for them to be out and open; living the life of a -mock- Kardashian while enjoyoing all the city has to offer. How true that is remains to be seen; especially for members of the Black gay community. Believe it or not, as large as Los Angeles is there are no bars dedicated to Black gays and only one club (that opens and closes at will). However, Brandon Anthony (The Socialite House) is doing his part to change all of that. He's young, sexy, hip, and one of my co-stars in the upcoming original series 'Cheetah in August'.
Tune in to hear how Brandon is reshaping the Los Angeles Black gay party scene with his special events and long awaited Generation X Black Pride Celebration. The events July 1st to July 5th agenda will have even the most skilled party goer worn completely out.

Today's episode is simple. I recorded a new demo yesterday and I am going to play it for you on the show today.
It's rough, it's not mixed or edited, and there are apparent noise issues, but it's raw, it's real, its me.
I wanted to write a song that captured a very tender and vulnerable mood. It is easy to be angry and scream, but exposing your deepest vulnerabilities in songwriting is a whole other thing. It takes bravery to show a vulnerable side, it takes a certain level of self acceptance and fearlessness to expose your soul to the world. However, the experience was quietly transformation for me in writing a song like this.
It was a smooth process. Ronald E. King (accompaniment) and I really jived together as we often do and it was a wonderful moment, as it always is when a song comes together so effortlessly.
This song is a long way from being a song still, and has many fine tunings and evolutions before I discover it's true personality. However, I think there is something magical about this recording and wanted to share this moment.
