This week we will be discussing the Brian Peixoto case in Massachusetts with advocate Lisa Munger. We will be taking calls during the second half of the show. Please call (347) 850-1478 with questions and comments about the case.
Brian Peixoto was convicted in 1996 for the murder of his girlfriend's 3-year-old son Christopher Affonso, Jr., and sentenced to life in prison in Massachusetts.
Peixoto was 26 years old at the time of his arrest. He had been dating the 3-year-old's mother Ami Sneed for about 3 months at the time of the child's death. Sneed had recently been staying at his home.
The State's medical examiner determined during autopsy that the child died from blunt head trauma leading investigators to suspect child abuse. Peixoto and Sneed immediately became their lead suspects. After being pressured by police, and giving up to eight different versions of events, Sneed provided a statement implicating Peixoto.
Peixoto's supporters state that the child died from injuries sustained during a fall, not from child abuse, and they have four nationally and internationally recognized medical experts that agree with them. Peixoto also has the support of the Massachusetts CPCS Innocence Program.

How should YOU deal with injustice committed against you? Throw up your hands and do nothing? Use courts of law? Or take personal revenge because courts of law are corrupt? Here's the bigger question? How do you get God on your side, working FOR you in this, and not AGAINST you? St. Peter, (and there's too many jokes about standing before St. Peter in Heaven) had a few words to say about this. And if anybody knew about injustice, it was he. This Thursday evening we'll talk about that, and here from Peter in his own words. Tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson, on "Jewish Roots", an internet call-in podcast each Thursday 9:30 pm at www.blogtalkradio.com/fougcrew. Or listen LIVE through Twitter, LinkedIn, GooglePlus or www.facebook.com/fougcrew / To call with a question or comment: 347-324-5759. Sam Thurman, Dennis Merritt and Wayne Wright of the Colorado exoneration firm A Just Cause, discuss what happens when the wheels of justice trample unbridled over the rights of innocent Americans.
Although the American system of justice is the most-respected worldwide, it is still a system designed, and operated, by humans, which means it's not perfect. Sam, Dennis, and Wayne will highlight ongoing struggles against "the system" to free wrongfully imprisoned people, and what happens when justice miscarries against an actually innocent person.
Our Special Guests for tonight are Author, Activist, Gina McGill, Retired, Federal Judge Mary Bullock, and Documentarist, Mike Riley. They will all share their thoughts on why American citizens needs to be more involved in fighting for Human and Civil Rights.
A Just Cause is currently campaigning for "FreeTheIRP6," who's been wrongly imprisoned in Florence, CO for a crime they didn't commit. Read full story: www.freetheirp6.org.

Tune in on Tuesday August 26, at 8 PM CDT (What is Central Daylight Time?)
This week we will be discussing the Jeffrey Havard case with attorney Jen Fitzgerald and advocate Lori Howard. We will also have a special guest to be announced during the show.
Jeff Havard currently sits wrongfully convicted on death row in Mississippi for the sexual assault and murder of his girlfriend’s six-month-old daughter, Chloe Britt. The truth is the infant slipped from Jeff's arms while lifting her from the tub, causing her head to hit the toilet. New expert evidence supports Jeff's claims. Chloe’s death was a tragic accident, not a murder.
Jeff’s defense team recently filed a rebuttal citing a Brady violation. A new affidavit from the prosecution's only expert witness Dr. Steven Hayne strongly supports the defense argument that a Brady violation occurred. Hayne specifically told prosecutors on more than one occasion prior to trial that he could not support a finding a sexual abuse. Unbelievably, the State chose to ignore Hayne's findings and prosecute Jeff for murder during the course of a sexual assault.
Prosecutors stood before the Court and told the jury that Dr. Hayne had "confirmed the nurses and doctors worst fear, that this child had been sexually abused." They knew that Dr. Hayne had done no such thing; in fact, he had done just the opposite.
Jeffrey Havard is on death row because the prosecution lied to the jury.
