Iran sends hundreds of troops to Syria; Attacks continue in Israel

    in Current Events

    1. Hundreds of Iranian troops are being deployed in northern and central Syria, dramatically escalating Tehran’s involvement in the civil war as they join allied Hezbollah fighters in an ambitious offensive to wrest key areas from rebels amid Russian airstrikes.

    2. Israeli police and a civilian shot and killed three Palestinians on Saturday who were attacking them with kitchen knives, as a wave of Palestinian assaults continued, answered by deadly Israeli fire.

    3. A measles outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s copper-mining southeast has killed 428 people and infected about 30,000 since the start of the year.

    4. Two weeks of air and missile strikes in Syria have given Western intelligence and military officials deeper insight into the transformation that Russia’s military has undergone under President Vladimir Putin, showcasing its ability to conduct operations beyond its borders and providing a public demonstration of new weaponry, tactics and strategy.

    5. Crippling blizzards, snowstorms, and sub-zero temperatures threaten a yearly dose of Arctic misery for the next 50 years at least – and possibly decades more.

You can read these stories in more detail and get more prophecy-related news at SecondComingHerald.com.

The prophetic passage of Scripture that we are looking at today is Psalm 89 which reads in part: "I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens..."

Our second coming quote for today is from Martin Luther. He said, "I hope that the day is near at hand when the advent of the great God will appear, for all things everywhere are boiling, burning, moving, falling, sinking, groaning."

At Eye Level - A Crazy Shade of Winter

    in Entertainment

Hosted by Matt G and "Doc" Savage

Cliquism and Society - we talk the herd mentality, and how to overcome and live outside it.

This Matt's first "real" winter in 12 years... yet it seems like yesterday.

Holy s#!t, people! Winter makes you all crazy! Give me the "good ole days" of 50 being cold, not "a warmup" in between arctic snowstorms. I swore I would never own a winter coat again. Guess what my wife boiught me last month. Driving on these roads is like riding a bicycle, you never forget... I just wish I didn't have to remember.

Enough about that, what makes you crazy during the winter? Is it the shovelling, sweeping, scraping of ice and snow off of your cars, sidewalks and driveways? Do they plow the streets well where you live? What's it like getting around town? Do people drive better or worse around this time of year? Are you in LA and want to rub it in about how gorgeous the weather has been? Share your tales of wintertime woe, as we gather 'round the fire and spread a little "holiday cheer".

Snowstorm shuts down Jerusalem; Supervolcano could wipe out U.S.

    in Religion

    1. According to The Times of Israel, Jerusalem on Friday night was in the midst of a storm feared to be "three times worse" than the snowstorms that had hit Thursday and earlier Friday.

    2. According to the New York Post, Yellowstone National Park is pristine wilderness, full of scenic landscape and iconic hot-pools and geysers, but it's what lies beneath that has scientists scurrying. Yellowstone is merely the skin on top of a supervolcano - a giant pool of magma sitting just under the Earth's surface.

    3. According to the Washington Free Beacon, a Chinese naval vessel tried to force a U.S. guided missile warship to stop in international waters, causing a tense military standoff in the latest case of Chinese maritime harassment.

    4. According to AFP (Agence France-Presse), a UN report has concluded chemical weapons were used at least five times before Syria agreed to dismantle its arsenal.

    5. According to The Associated Press, Iran pulled out of expert-level talks with six world powers on Friday to protest the expansion of US sanctions, saying the blacklisting of more entities violates the spirit of a groundbreaking agreement over Tehran's atomic program.

The Bible says in Zechariah 8:3: "Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain."
