Now, working on her first book and expecting her first baby in April, Candice is once again relying on the skills that got her this far to take her through the new exciting challenges and changes that lay ahead for her as an entrepreneur woman and soon to be mom.

I have long called February LOVE MONTH! There is something about that Hallmark Holiday, Valentine's Day that I feel very fond of. Anytime where love becomes the focus, our hearts become the focus and people are drawn closer to each other, I'm all in!
What do you think about when you think about love? I think of God. I think of family & friends. I think of my favorite episodes of the Golden Girls! We probably all think of different things. But tell me this, do you ever think about how you do or don't show love to yourself? How do you think about yourself? What thoughts do you hold? What behaviors do you show? I want to talk about it. Join me today on The Smiley Notes.
Ten years ago we were introduced to Susan Smiley, her mother Millie and her sister Tina. Out of the Shadow was produced and directed by Susan. Premiering in 2005, it provided an unprecedented insight into her mother's serious mental illness, her own journey and how she and her sister have coped. The response to the film was enormous, receiving wide-spread press coverage. It continues to be required viewing in many university courses and graduate schools of public health, psychiatry, social work and nursing. It has received many awards, been translated into 12 languages and has been viewed countless times on PBS stations across the country. Tonight, we speak with Susan. She'll reflect on how the film impacted her life since she went public with her very personal and painful story. We will also discuss her current activities and interests.
INTERVIEWING THE DIVAS
Join Diva Candace Gish as she speaks with other fascinating, Entrepreneurial Divas, from many worlds.
My name is Candice Smiley and I am a serial entrepreneur. I currently have a successful event planing business called Create the Ripple Events (www.candicesmiley.com). It's an event management company that works to promote events with positive ripple effects. I also have a successful network marketing business that allows me to feel the freedom of a residual income because I love building teams. I understand the power of referrals and the power of a team and I run both of my companies 100% by referral.
So the question you are wondering is "why would I listen in?"
Are you someone who has trouble "filling the seats" for your events? Do you have trouble bringing in customers but the the thought of planing an event seems daunting and expensive? Awesome. Listen in. I know from personal life experience how to increase sales, attendance, and customer retention. Oh, and have fun while you are doing it.
Maybe it's going to networking meetings and mixers - do you struggle to know what to say or wonder how to approach people? Awesome, listen in. I'll give you some ideas to use to effectively maximize the current events happening already in your area to expand your network and influence.
I'll also share the books I've read that helped me on my own personal journey so you can inspire yourself long after we're done chatting.

I recently shared on my social media platforms how I was bullied for a brief time in elementary and middle school. It cut down my belief in myself for a season and because of that, I remember that I walked around at school unsure of myself and often with my head down. During the summer of my 7th grade year, I was relieved of all of that negative thought and energy about myself and I began to receive and believe that I was all that God said I was and I've been walking in that truth for the last 27 years. Because of that I walk with confidence! I still see people who seem to walk like they are down. I don't know if they are or not but I think that the way we enter a room is important. Join me on today's Smiley note as I share how to walk with GODFIDENCE!
