2D Sports Radio Presents PWR SLAM!-A Slammin' Christmas Special

    in Wrestling

It's Christmas Eve eve and PWR SLAM! is presenting its FIRST ANNUAL SLAMMIN' CHRISTMAS SPECIAL. Tonight we bring two of our favorite people back in roles that are probably unfamiliar to them (heck, we're probably doing some downright bad casting, but we're doing it anyway because at least we'll be amused).

In the role of Santa, we have everyone's favorite Heel Supporter and Best Selling Author, Kenny Starmaker Bolin. We all know Santa Kenny has lots of presents in his bag, namely Beats By Bolin, Buds By Bolin, Starmaker Satellite Speakers, and I Probably Screwed YOU Too!, all for sale from his Facebook page or Amazon. We know he's made his list and checked it twice, we'll find out if Katie's been naughty or nice!

In the role of Mrs. Claus, we have EVERYONE'S favorite GLOW girl, Roxy Astor! Roxy has been busy coming up with her first ever Christmas Rap, which she will premier EXCLUSIVELY on our show tonight! Will she be able to get Bolin Claus away from the Golden Corral buffet table in time to get on his Cadillac sleigh to start delivering presents to all the good little wrestling fans? We'll have to wait and see.

This will be an evening of fun, laughs and MUSIC! Yes, we actually wrote our own Christmas songs especially for this show. We hope you will enjoy them. If you don't, please don't tell us. We are fragile and get our feelings hurt very easily. Anyway, join us tonight as we share Christmas stories, wrestling stories, and maybe a little Christmas Cheer (all legal, of course). We invite you to join us via our chat, on Skype, or by phone at (347) 826-9418. As always, calls are screened and will be used based on time and apropriateness.

Join Sean, Steve, Katie, Santa & Mrs. Claus as we celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. Just don't ask for a Red Ryder BB Gun, you'll shoot your eye out!

PWR SLAM! Presents A Night Of Impact Featuring Beautiful Bobby Eaton

    in Wrestling

    Tonight PWR SLAM! gives the entire night to the benefit for the school district in Delevan,Il this Saturday. The show is a cooperative effort between IWA Midwest and Midwest Impact Pro Wrestling. The card will be loaded with talent and will have three special guests. While we may be joined by others, these are the people we have confirmed for tonight;

Brian Thompson: Brian has worked as a ring announcer, manager, promoter and agent. This is his first time with us and we may employ his announcer skills to introduce our other guests.

Gavin Alexander: Gavin is no stranger to our show having made several appearances. He is part of the Impact group and we will discuss who his representatives will be for the event.

Crazy Luke Graham Jr.: He claims to be the son of the legendary star, however, due to the fact that birth records were destroyed in a fire at the asylum, we can't be sure. What we do know is this guy has legitimate grappling skills along with a mouth that won't stop running. We just hope to get a word in edgewise.

Beautiful Bobby Eaton: The name alone says it all. This legendary star is one of the most decorated tag team wrestlers of all time. As the consistent half of the famous Midnight Express, first with Loverboy Dennis Condrey, then with Sweet Stan Lane, but always with Jim Cornette, The Midnight Express won numerous NWA World and United States tag team titles. The Express wrestled The Road Warriors in the classic "Night Of The Skywalkers" scaffold match in Chicago which saw Cornette break both arms.

We will not promise that there will be time for listener questions, however, we encourage your participation in our chat room. Should we offer a question period, you may call via Skype or at (347) 826-9418. All calls will be screened. Steve, Katie and Sean hope you will enjoy the show.

2D Sports Radio Presents PWR SLAM! Revisits Georgia Champonship Wrestling

    in Wrestling

Tonight PWR SLAM! goes back to the early days of cable TV when Ted Turner put his shows on at 5 and 35 after the hour "so you can see how boring everyone else's stuff is then come watch MY shows". In those days, the whole nation was starting to turn to something called Super 17 on Saturday night starting at 6:05 P.M. Eastern for a little show called "Georgia Championship Wrestling". At that time, the Georgia territory, owned and run by Ole Anderson, was part of the National Wrestling Alliance when it was still a powerhouse and part of the Big 3 along with Verne Gagne's AWA and a little promotion then run by Vince McMahon Sr. called the World Wrestling Federation.

The roster was one of the top groups of its time, from the enhancement guys such as George South, Alabama Jr. Heavyweight Champion Mike Jackson and The Mulkey Brothers to the top stars, NWA World Champion Nature Boy Ric Flair, Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy, who were feuding at the time, Tommy "Wildfire" Rich and many more. Among that group were two good old Southern boys who definately were "rasslers", Joel Deaton and Bob Cook.

Joel Deaton was working as a personal trainer when Lars Anderson took him under his wing and trained him for an in ring career. Aftera short stint in Anderson's promotion Joel left for his first stint at GCW. He not only wrestled as Joel Deaton, he put on a mask and wrestled as Thunderfoot, where he was managed by the legendary James J. Dillon. Joel has been with us on our Promoter's Roundtable and was part of our Anniversary, but this will be his first featured appearance.

Joining Joel will be another stalwart from those Georgia days, Bob Cook. Bob is also a protege of Professor Boris Malenko so his heritage is stellar. We will discuss his beginnings in the ring, wrestling new WWE Hall Of Fame member Sting and donning a familiar mask.

Questions will be taken by Skype or (347) 826-9418.

2D Sports Radio Presents PWR SLAM! Ladies Night with Nikki Adams & GREMLINA!

    in Wrestling

Once again PWR SLAM! is proud to present our monthly Ladies Night and we have a great planned for you. Along with an up and coming East Coast wrestler we are proud to present another member of the Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling roster.

Nikki Addams is an up and coming wrestler headquartered on the East Coast. Her resume includes stints at Women Superstars Uncensored, American Championship Entertainment and New York Wrestling Connection. She has worked across the ring from some top name talent, including Havok and Marti Belle. We are pleased to present this young woman in her first appearance with us.

Sandy Manley is barely five feet tall, but that did not stop her from throwing herself wholeheartedly into training when she was accepted as a member of the GLOW roster. Given the moniker Gremlina, this little helion, usually accompanying Dementia to the ring, was usually positioned to be a thorn in the side of the heroic Mt. Fiji. She also has other TV programming to her credit which we will discuss as well as her current continued involovement with wrestling and podcasting.

We will also be joined this evening by our partner Koby Rutland from Bodyslam Media Productions. It's been a while since we've talked to himso we'll catch up on his travels and what Bodyslam has in store for 2016. You also have to be listening as we have a very special announcement concerning next week's show.

As always,Sean, Katie and Steve welcome your (appropriate) questions for our guests via our chat room, on Skype (the blue button) or by phone at  (347) 826-9418. We hope you will enjoy tonight's show.

2D Sports Radio Presents PWR SLAM! Goes To The EXTREME!

    in Wrestling

Tonight, PWR SLAM! goes to the EXTREME as we interview two long time original members of the ECW roster, Axl Rotten and 2 Cold Scorpio.

Our Promoter Spotlight tonight features Brandon Oliver.Brandon represents River CityWrestling in San Antoino, Tx. This Friday, River City presents a special card that will include a special birthday party for WWE Hall Of Fame member Luke Williams of the Bushwackers. We look forward to talking to Brandon about this special event. Then it's time to get EXTREME!

Axl Rotten was with us previously after the passing of Hack Meyers. Tonight we welcome him in a happier circumstance. Axl knew early on in his life and left school at 16 to train with the late Ricky Lawless, who became his first tag team partner. After Lawless' death, Axl went solo until he started training the guy who would become Ian Rotten, his tag team partner in what became known as The Bad Breed. His life and career changed in World Championship Wrestling. It was there he met Paul Heyman who brought him into a fledgling promotion called ECW. Axl and Ian fought together and even feuded. We'll talk Global, WCW, ECW (of course) and his health issues and his amazing recovery.

Then we get to one of the original high flyers in our business, 2 Cold Scorpio. The Denver native knocked around the independents until Leon "Vader" White suggested he go to New Japan Pro Wrestling. From there he came to the states with World Championship Wrestling, making his debut on November 18, 1992 at Clash Of The Champions XXI where he literally made a splash, being the first wrestler to employ the 450 Splash in America. From there he moved on to what was NWA Eastern Championship Wrestling. On August 27, 1994 Scorpio became part of one of the biggest controversies in wrestling history when he lost to Shane Douglas who trashed the NWA belt. We will discuss his varied career.

Join us in chat, Skype or (347) 826-9418.

2D Sports Radio Presents PWR SLAM Featuring Rockin Randy Rhodes

    in Wrestling

It's that midweek time which means Sean, Steve and Katie are ready to spend another two hours with you and the wrestlers you may or may not know, but we guarantee you that you will be informed as well as entertained.

First off we will have joining us "Rockin'" Randy Rhodes. Randy is a Floridian who has been around the business for many years. He was an enhancement talent for 1980s WWF, where he worked a number of name stars, including a just starting Undertaker. His circle includes Bob "Blackjack Mulligan" Windham and Dirty Dick Slater and Joel Deaton among others. We are pleased to present Randy to our audience.

We have said our motto is "We Embrace Controversy" and in our second (and possibly third) hour we will most definately embrace controversy. Two different wrestling promotions in the Midwest are being called out, each for something different. In one promotion, a couple of fundraisers that one promotion ran are now rife with accusations that the money did not go to the causes it was intended for. Also, at a show in Minnesota, a manager chose the WRONG way to get heat on himself. We will discuss that as well.

Comments and questions, which will be screened for content, and allowed based on time will be taken via our chat, through Skype or via phone at (347) 826-9418. Due to the very real possibility of us going over we encourage our listeners to call or Skype early in the show to avoid missing show content after 12:00 Eastern.
