    PRAYER EXPECTATIONS...

    in Christianity

I know there are many powerhouse Christians out there in the world.  Some are prayer warriors that we may never know about but one day we will see them revealed.  We have a local Pastor Jeff Sizemore, and he is a power hitter for Jesus.  Walks it, talks it, I would probably be going to his church but in all honestly, I am not that dedicated of a worker for Jesus.  We had discussion on prayer this morning, we both are seeking God in what we are doing and trying to do... please listen to the lesson and what the Bible says about prayer.

Can Independent Black Institutions Solve The Education Crisis?

    in Women

Public schools are closing in cities across America and the ones that remain open are questionable when it comes to offering relevant information and preparation for life in a safe learning environment. But whereas public schools have often been dismal failures in America's urban areas, private, culturally based schools have had tremendous success. What is the missing ingredient. Haki and Safisha Madhubuti, founders of The Institute of Positive Education, discuss their journey as educators, publishers, and founders of several learning institutions that focus on African history and cultural values. As IPE prepares for an anniversary celebration this weekend, the Madhubutis reflect on the social andfinancial challenges involved in running independent schools.

Dennis Binns says "I am retired US Navy. My maternal blood line is of the Sizemore clan and of Eastern Cherokee. Great Grandfather was Chief Bear Heart. I am married for 31 years. We have 5 daughters, 1 adopted daughter, 1 son, 9 grand-daughters, 3 grandsons, 1 great grand-daughter and 1 great grandson. My immediate family represents the four colors red, black, yellow and white. So, we all basically understand each other and the cultures we grew up in. I came from a broken home early in life. Was raised in an orphanage for about 3 years and became a foster child at the age of 10. I joined the Navy soon after graduating High School. Became a Data Systems Technician for 20 years. My job was to troubleshoot and repair digital Combat Systems. I was awakened spiritually about 3 years now. I started out on facebook with a few friends. Once the spirit led me to post prayers each day, the number has grown rapidly. If you have any questions, just let me know."
