We're talking adultery tonight. TV shows (like Being Mary Jane and Scandal) treat it as good entertainment but why? What does this say about us when we ourselves become guilty of it and even the victims? Why are we happy to see the wife lose (if thats what we want to call it) and are yet sad when the husband seems to lose? Is there a double standard?
What are the spiritual ties created through adultery? Adultery comes in many forms and we want to hear from you all on the topic, especially if youve been guilty of it or a victim of it. What ripple affects did it cause you? What does the final authority of scripture say regarding this?

Many christians among others dont want to look at fornication as sin. Just like many homosexuals don't view homosexuality as sin. People flip the meanings of fornication & eiato justify sex before marriage. People justify sex according to their feelings and the social climate we're in today. Some feel the bible isnt clear on the topic. Others believe its quite clear while others are a bit confused on the topic because of all the sex that was being had in the Old Testament. But whats the end result of it all? What's the end result we see today from sex before marrige? Many cultures practice various sex/marriage traditions but whats the overall view of sex before marriage? How is the woman viewed? How has premarital sex (and the other things that come with it) affected our societies?
What's noticed is how people consider waiting for marriage to have sex an ancient narrow-minded ideal that has no significance today and is used as a form of controlling people to a religious system. Lets talk about it...

Join us for Worship this Sunday morning, April 12, 2015, as we continue our study through the Book of Joshua. We will hear the sermon, "Sin That Lost A War." We will learn there are consequences for our sins and the difference between Grace and Mercy. Our Pastor is Bill Lawson.
1 Cor 6:18-20 says Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. We were bought with a price, and a costly one it was for all the sin of mankind. But its something about sexual sin that has a dangerous and disasterous effect to it. Simply put, its short term pleasure with long term consequences . This perhaps gives real meaning to the phrase "you reap what you sow".....this includes shame, guilt, pain and heart ache as well as a life time of regret. Truly a price we can't pay. The good news however is that Christ understands our struggle with the desires of the flesh and He loves us so much He seeks to save us from the bondage of sin. We must ask ourselves these and many other questions regarding sexual sin. Am I willing to lose my marriage with sexual sin? Am I ready to lose my family, friends to my own lustful cravings? How much am I willing to pay? And the master manipulator, Satan will never tell you the cost of this sin up front but he will be expecting you to pay in the end. Thanks be to God that we already have a way of escape through the cross, becuase Jesus already paid it all.
Are you living in Sin? Do you know what is? Any thing we do thatt goes against God's Law, His Word, is sin. It is lawlessness or transgression of God's will either by omitting to do what Gods law requires doing or by doing what it forbids. The transgression can occur in thought, word or deed. Sin is a real and positive evil. Sin is more than unwise, inexpedient calamitous behavior that produces sorrow and distress. It is rebellion against God's law-the standard of righteousness.
Coming up tonight on The Boiler Room, Adultery within the community: has it risen over the years? Are women just as responsible as men, these days? What are some things that cause people to cheat? What could be solutions to strengthen marital vows and avoid the trap of adultery? We'll also look at the bishops' interview on 60 Minutes this past Sunday. Listeners are encouraged to call in with questions and comments at 347-857-3847.
