    There Are No Shortcuts

    in Finance

Have you ever accomplished something great by taking shortcuts? According to Dan Gilbert, owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, said in his tweet last night when the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat which was no doubt directed at LeBron James. He said, "Old Lesson for all:There are NO SHORTCUTS. NONE."
Just as there are no shortcuts in winning a world championship there are shortcuts to being successful in the trading world. Today we talk about the pitfalls of taking shortcuts when trading and what to do to avoid the temptation of getting a quick win.

10 Things You MUST DoToBeAn Organized Caregiver,byOrganizingExpert,DebbyeCannon

    in Caregiving

In the early 1980’s, I was caring for my 2 children (both under two years old, & in cloth diapers!) and life was absolutely eating me alive! I had the responsibilities of wife, mother, homemaker and I was endeavoring to run a substantial home-based business. I found that although my business was EXPLODING, my home life was IMPLODING! What WAS I thinking?

By late afternoon, when I needed to be preparing dinner, I’d find myself collapsed in my kitchen from low blood sugar, surrounded by my little ones without a CLUE about what I could assemble for dinner. There would be pasta, but no sauce, meat frozen solid and no side dishes in my pantry. My house felt a mess. Laundry was piled high and the floors were so sticky I feared walking through the kitchen!

I decided to create some shortcuts. I created a system for more than just surviving my life. Pretty soon I was actually thriving, and my friends noticed. By popular demand, I began teaching local workshop groups. The Butler family encouraged me to publish my system. The first edition was published in September of 1988, a second printing followed in January 1997 and a third edition in 2006.

Prompted to share my systems and techniques, I have now become the SMARTcut® Expert. I am passionate about helping way past busy entrepreneurs especially Caregivers, who are struggling with the juggling. I hope my work will give you the time and energy to reach more of your personal dreams, serve your family, church and community in ways that really make a difference.

Turning Your Mess Into Your Message

    in Christianity

This week Erica discusses the topic of faith without works and the danger of complacency in your walk with Jesus.

When what you believe infiltrates your behavior, the PROCESS gives your walk a proper foundation. There is a discipline of doing that is required in walking with the Lord. There are no shortcuts to excellency.

Christianity is not robotic. It is based on the foundation of Christ. It is the trial, the temptation, the struggle, the getting up each time we fall that shows us things we did not know about God and ourselves.

Back In To Society - Prison Profiteering of the backs of the incarcerated .

    in Lifestyle

As an offender stands before a judge and hears the sentencing terms, the victims and the others are also listening. A two-year stint versus a ten year stretch in a privately operated correctional facility can make a huge difference in profit.
We will one day arrive at the point where rehabilitation and a reduction in recidivism become less desirable because they ultimately compromises profit….

By championing private prisons, we are condoning the profiteering of the incarcerated.
In other words, we are saying that when times get bad,
don’t worry, money will be made. If we look at the prison system as a business, we are disregarding the human element that makes the system work... When dollars dominate, one becomes blind to the real threat that lies within. In order to keep profits at a high, sometimes actions become motivated by the power of money.

An increase in profit often leads to shortcuts
and, thus safety and security will be compromised and lives will be lost.

When business and profit margins supersede the value of a human life, we are in serious trouble, we can no longer allow the meat locker stocking of men, women and now children to get any bigger than it already is. Judges, police departments, sheriff departments as well as probation and parole officers are making a huge amount of money via the Prison for Profit system and the School to Prison Pipeline…
Kevin W. Womble (Back In To Society – Breaking the Barriers of Injustice).
