Noted film critics James Colt Harrison and Diana Saenger drop by to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Shawshank Redemption. Cast members Morgan Freeman, Clancy Brown and Gil Bellows have also been invited to share their comments about working on this remarkable 1994 movie that earned seven Academy Award nominations, including a Best Actor nod for Freeman. Both Freeman and Tim Robbins practically transformed themselves into two unconventional prisoners for their key roles in this acclaimed motion picture. Their splendid portrayals helped viewers understand the vitue of patience and hope. Among the supporting cast, Clancy Brown was excellent as a chief guard and Gil Bellows received praise for his turn as an unlucky prisoner who becomes the catalyst for big changes in the lives of the two main characters. The Shawshank Redemption won the Humanitas Prize, the Crystal Heart Award from the Heartland Film Fest, and was among the National Board of Review's Top Ten Films of 1994.
James Colt Harrison and Diana Saenger recently attended the AMPAS tribute to The Shawshank Redemption and have agreed to discuss that event during this special episode.
We will be discussing the 2015 Oscars, the Oscar-nominated classic Mr. Sadler in THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION in 1994. The film had seven nominations and no wins. We will also discuss some of his other credits that include Die Hard 2 (s5 year anniversary), the Green Mile, Iron Man 3, and recent indie films The Historian, and Deadly Crush. We are very happy to be joined by Mr. William Sadler.
Mr. Sadler co-starred in this movie as one of the main characters Heywood. We will be discussing this timeless classic. We are going to honor this film during Oscar monht, oddly in 1994, although up for seven Oscars The Shwshank Redemption received none thanks to Forrest Gump. Arguably one of the most beloeved films ever made and truly the best film to capture authentic male friendship, The Shawshank Redemption is a movie I see 6-10 times a year.
Gregory Nasky from Fierce Redmption radio is bringing you another godly man that has over come the childhood sexual abuse from his so-called family member, who is a state cop, thats supposed to protect us all from people just like himself. This is an uplifing story that has Redemption written all over it, Scott Polston is a personal friend of mine that has changed his life around and is now working full-time at the church Epic center in St. louis, Mo with a mission to speak up and out about his hurts, habits and hang-ups and how this man tore his childhood away from him which led him to a life of addiction and how his story is a must hear. I know, from hearing it myself, it will truly move you and make you think twice. It will lead you to want to help change the laws on how much time people have to bring criminal charges against these monsters, who are given a limilted amount of time and can walk away free, without facing charges for the awful crimes they have commited against children. Together, raising awareness, we can start making a change and start getting these laws changed. The person that has been robbed of their childhood should have a lifetime to bring charges against their monster. Sadly, most survivors of childhood sexual abuse may not be ready or able or willing for years to bring charges against their monster. So, please listen to our show and open your hearts and ears and enjoy the show. Thank you, Gregory Nasky / fierce redemption
