Born in Vancouver, B.C., I grew up in an abusive family with an Alcoholic mom. I learned at an early age to take over the mother role, house work, laundry, cooking. I never had time for homework so did poorly in school. By the time I was 15, I had been molested, raped and kidnaped for 4 months. I was forced into prostitution, but found a way to run away and get home where mom continued to push me to work the streets. I knew it was the alcohol talking, but I was taught I had no value.
I got into my late 20's and was blessed with an Autistic Son. His father left us 3 months before he was born. I had learned to survive, be invisible, hide, hate and looking into my son's eyes, I chose to be a change maker. No more hurt or abuse. I forgave all who had a part of my pain as I realized, they were the product of there family. I broke the cycle of abuse that continued in the generations of my family. I was informed to place my son in an institution as my history of mom putting me in Mental Hospitals, I would only harm my baby. I would not be able to raise him. He would never be able to ride a bike or belong in society. My son and I worked with many agencies and moved from Kelowna in 2009 to Barrie for Christopher to get the best training. He is now 23 and a Three Time Canadian National Champion in Pairs Figure Skating. I became a National and International Nail Technician Artist Top Ten and Award winner.
