Indira Milini Khan was born in Chicago and grew up in Los Angeles and New York
City. The sultry young singer comes from a musical family; her mother is the legendary
Pop/Soul icon Chaka Khan. Indira's musical influence stems from performers of varied
genres such as: The Artist (Prince), Aretha Franklin, Minnie Riperton, Joni Mitchell,
Steely Dan, Sarah McLaughlin and Sheryl Crow.
Indira began her professional music career at a young age. From the ages of fourteen to
seventeen, she was the founding member of the Motown Records group Pretty in Pink.
Indira was responsible for co-writing the majority of the groups material. After her stint
with Pretty in Pink, she went on to record with Atlantic Records recording artist Miki
Howard, Motown Records recording artist Johnny Gill and Island Records recording
artist Shabba Ranks. Indira also appeared on projects by Loud Records recording artist
Yvette Michelle, Mercury Records recording artist Paula Abdul and has also been
featured on several Chaka Khan records as well.
Indira is known in the music industry as a prolific songwriter. It is her deeply personal
songs and passionate writing that is true to her heart. Always striving as a singer and
performer, Indira has toured extensively most recently with the Daughters of Soul and
Rufus, both in the United States and Overseas. A benefit of Indira's travels with her
mother on the road is her perspective on how music is a powerful influence in the lives of
all people. Though she considers her music mainly R&B, don’t be surprised to hear some
funk, rock and jazz spicing up the tracks in her forthcoming release. Despite the many
comparisons to her mothers legendary voice, Indira pulls out all the stops when it comes
to her own unique style. She expresses her individual diva-tude with humility, grace and

The Don S. McClure Show Live-Black History Leading Black Auto maker 1915
Mr. Charles Richard Patterson, founder of what was to become the world's first Black family owned automobile manufacturing company. The head of this remarkable family was Charles (Rich) Patterson. He was born a slave on a West Virginia plantation and learned blacksmithing skills that would prove useful through-out his life.
The C.R. Patterson & Son Carriage Company of Greenfield, Ohio became the nation's, and the world's, first and only African-American founded and owned automobile manufacturing company. The company began as a manufacturer of horse drawn carriages and ended up as a manufacturer of buses for both urban transportation systems and rural school needs.
In 1873 C.R. Patterson went into partnership with a white businessman, named J.P. Lowe. ten years later into the very successful business venture J. P. Lowe died leaving the business and sole ownership to C.R Patterson. There are some who say C.R. purchased the entire company from J.P before he died.
The C.R. Patterson Co. turned out 28 different types of horse-drawn vehicles.
The product line included buggies, backboards, phaetons, rockaways and surreys — the era's most popular wagons.
Patterson and his wife, the former Josephine Qutz, were the parents of four children: Katherine, Dollie, Frederick Douglass, and Samuel. It was Fred who helped guide the company into the Automobile Age in the early 20th century.

Tonight at 9PM ET/6PM PT, FightSaga Radio Network presents a very special "Mayweather, Pacquiao, Khan, and Thurman" edition of "Boxing 411 with Joseph and Lee"!!
Fight scribe and ring announcer Joseph Herron, along with Editor and Chief of FightSaga.com Lee Cleveland, will examine all of the major fights and big events over the weekend of December 13th.
Joseph and Lee will review Floyd Mayweather's announcement of "I want Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd", which was stated on Showtime Special Edition this past Friday night in San Antonio, Texas.
- Is Floyd serious about pursuing a lucrative event opposite Manny Pacquiao?
- Was Mayweather just publicly outbidding himself out of the premium match-up with his statement?
- What are Mayweather's other options at this time?
The FightSaga writing tandem will also review Amir Khan's dominant performance against Devon Alexander in the main event of the Showtime Championship Boxing fight card from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
- How impressive was Khan's virtual shut-out of the former two-division world champion?
- What's next for Amir Khan in 2015?
- Does the 28 year old Briton pose the greatest threat to Money Mayweather outside of a superfight with Manny Pacquiao?
Joseph and Lee will also discuss all of the controversial judging in the Herrera/Benavidez, Bradley/Chaves, and Escandon/Cave bouts.
- Should commentators like Teddy Atlas and Max Kellerman choose to slander and scrutinize the subjective scoring process of boxing?
- Area there more objective ways of scoring the art of prizefighting?
Tune in to "Boxing 411 with Joseph and Lee" tonight on FightSaga Radio Network!!
Amir Khan won a convincing 12-round unanimous decision victory over Devon Alexander in a matchup of two of the fastest welterweights in the world on Saturday in the main event of SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The impressive victory was nearly a shutout, with Khan winning 119-109, 118-110 and 120-108 to remain undefeated at 147 pounds and extend his winning streak against southpaws to seven.Tim Bradley Jr. returned to the ring tonight and took on rugged Argentine Diego Chaves at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.
A night of controversy continued in the main event as the judges scored the fight 116-112 Chaves, 115-113 Bradley, and 114-114 a split draw. The idea that anyone could give 8 rounds to Chaves is ludicrous especially coming from Julie Lederman one of the best judges in the sport in my opinion.
Bradley looked tremendous to start the fight very sharp with crisp punches. His legs looked great and his defense was on point. He landed flush shots on Chaves, boxing very effectively through the first 3 rounds. Chaves had moments of effectiveness during exchanges.

It seems like there is already a plan B in place in case the super fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is not made on the side of Floyd Mayweather. In an interview with The New York Daily News, Showtime Executive Stephen Espinoza says that Mayweather will fight May 2nd regardless of the outcome of Mayweather-Pacquiao.
“He’s definitely fighting on May 2,” Espinoza told the New York Daily News. “His first choice by far is Manny Pacquiao. If it becomes clear that that fight is not achievable, then he would move on to either Amir Khan or Miguel Cotto. He’s made it clear to us that Pacquiao is still his No. 1 priority, and that’s where all our energy is focused.”
While many people feel that time is running out to announce the big fight, Espinoza feels that while still urgent to get the deal done, there still is time to make the fight happen.
“I would say I’m optimistic that it can get done,” Espinoza said. “We have work to do to bridge the gap on important issues, but the most important thing is that Floyd genuinely wants it and wants it badly, and from everything I’ve heard and seen, Manny wants the fight as well.”
