    SDG 224 Christmas is LOVE

    in Spirituality

    John 3:16 and 1 Corinthians 13

John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son.

Now if you’re looking for something to give somebody this Christmas I hope you gave them LOVE!

When God gave His son Jesus, He was giving us His gift of LOVE.

Our world's falling apart and the only cure is LOVE despite what a lot of secular experts have been saying.

Like that pop song said..., “What the world needs now is love.” and isn't that the truth?

Jesus warned us that in these last days,,,, “... iniquity shall abound and the love of many shall wax cold.”

So love's a precious gift from God desperately needed by us all especially in this Christmas season.

Be sure to tune into this message to learn three great truths of Christmas which include: The values, the virtues and the victories of love that are always so important especially during the Christmas Season!

SDG 228 Justice Mercy and Faithfulness: Doctrine or Dogma?

    in Spirituality

    Matthew 23:23

Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

In today's message provided The LORD's willing I’d like to share some thoughts with you on what Jesus referred to as the weightier matters of the law and the crucial difference between The Doctrine of God and the doctrines of men or as commonly known "dogma".

Plus as we unpack these three weightier matters of the law I’d like to share with you some things that have happened to me over the past 5 years during my walk with The LORD Jesus Christ especially here on Blog Talk Radio.

SDG 225 The Key to Victory in 2016

    in Spirituality

    Joshua 17:12-18

Today as we face the New Year we'll learn a New Testament lesson from an Old Testament hero. So let's launch this new year in victory as we learn how to overcome sinful compromise, self confidence and senseless clutter that smothers our lives and have victory over sin, Satan and society.  Now there's no better character and book in the Old Testament to learn about such victory than the Joshua.. He's the man and this is his book which is all about victory in Jesus, yes in Jesus!.
Joshua tells us how to have victory day by day, but this is no ordinary victory!

The Bible says clearly, “All these things happened to them [the Old Testament pilgrims] for examples to us.”

So even back then it was all about Jesus!!!

SDG 229 Do you want God to be fair or good?

    in Spirituality

    Matthew 20:1–15

So which is it for you? Do you want God to be good or do you want God to be fair?

    Well, please consider the following:

We are saved by grace and grace alone, yet some "believers" even those in positions of leadership do not understand this sacred truth and even laugh at the gospel of grace.

But remember that Paul said in Galatians 1:6-9 KJV [1] I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: [7] Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. [8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. [9] As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Last week I shared with you the truth tempered in love, and warned you to beware of a false gospel that being preached in a ministry I helped found.

So do you want God to be fair or good?

Well I guess that all depends on what you believe about The Gospel of Christ.  Is it grace and grace alone or is it grace plus works?

Well if your answer’s grace and grace alone then I know that you know and you're thanking God daily for being so good.

But if you think your salvation depends upon grace and works then I suppose you’d probably want God to be fair.  After all you earned it right?

In today’s message we’ll look at 5 incredible truths contained in the story of the man and his workers in the vineyard and by the end of this message I pray that you see why it's better for God to be good rather than fair.

SDG 227 Behold, One Greater than Solomon is Here!

    in Spirituality

    Matthew 12:42

    Matthew 12:42 KJVS
[42] The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Now Jesus was referring to Himself as He stood in their midst as The One greater than Solomon being there!.

But in their blindness and arrogance they missed Him.

So Jesus was saying you are oblivious to the obvious!

And they must have thought, “What are you talking about? Who are you compared to Solomon?

In this message we will look at seven ways that The LORD Jesus Christ IS greater than Solomon, hence the phrase from Matt 12:42 . Behold, One Greater than Solomon is Here!”

Well the truth is that Jesus is greater in wisdom, works, workers, wealth, worth, worship and wonders than Solomon!

SDG 226 Do You Know the Works or the Ways of God?

    in Spirituality

    Exodus 33:12–14

There are two ways that we can be acquainted with God.

We may know God’s works, what God does; or we can know God’s ways, who God is.

Now Moses didn’t say, “LORD, show me Your works.”, because he had already seen plenty of God’s works; he said, “LORD, if I’ve got a gigantic task to do, I want to know Your ways.”

And PTL, God answered his prayer.

The Bible says, “He made known His ways unto Moses, and His acts unto the children of Israel” (Psalm 103:7).

So Moses knew God’s ways and Israel knew God’s works.

They saw what God did, but Moses knew something that the rest of Israel did not know.

Hence these are the two levels of knowledge of God:

Some know God’s works, they see what God does; while others see God’s ways, they have insight into God’s character.

Now, knowing the ways of God will bring peace in a troubled world, and God knows that we are facing a troubled world.

So in these perilous days my prayer for all of us that that we might learn the ways of God that will bring peace in troubled times.

Tune in as we look at

SDG 223 Godly Medicine for the Holiday Blues

    in Spirituality

    Psalm 42:5–11

Let's face it, for as exciting as Christmas may be for many it's also a time of deep deep depression for many others and some call it the holiday blues.

Now the experts claim it's due to not planning properly, family conflicts, striving for perfection, lack of sleep and even grief.

In Psalm 42:5 David talking to himself asks. “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me?” Now it’s obvious as we look at the rest of this Psalm that King David's in a state of despondency that we call depression.

And this isn't just feeling sad. We all feel sad at times and I’m not talking about being disturbed because we all get disturbed at times.

And we all have broken hearts, disappointments and faded dreams, those come to all of us, but that’s not a depression.

So David asked himself, “Why art thou cast down, O my soul?”

Now there are 3 basic Biblical truths in this message so be sure to tune in because I pray they will help us all to deal with The Holiday Blues:

SDG 222 End Time Issue: Ashley Madison AKA Adultery or Infidelity

    in Spirituality

    2 Samuel 11:1–5

Unless you are living in a cave you've probably heard about this year's hack of the Ashley Madison website where subscriber profiles were released by the hackers.  Now their tag line is: Life is short. Have an affair.

This web site isn't the problem rather it is a reflection of our culture.  And the story of David’s adulterous sin with Bathsheba serves as an excellent example for this message on the consequences of the grievous sin of adultery or any sin for that matter.

Can a child of God sin? Yes.
Can a child of God sin and not suffer? No.

Well just look at King David, the Bible calls him, “…a man after His own heart…” (1 Samuel 13:14).

He was a poet, a singer, a mighty warrior, and one of the greatest men who ever lived and when I think of David, first I think of his bravery.

Remember before he slew Goliath he killed a lion, and a bear, and he did all of this while still in his youth! Now we all know those stories and we love David’s bravery.

Plus we know he was very humble, because after he had been appointed and anointed to be the king of Israel, he went back to tending sheep!  Now that's humility!

David was the man among men, above most every other man, he was an incredible individual, yet he fell into a deep, dark, hateful, heinous sin and our focus scripture tells us about it.

Hence there was a big scar from the sin of adultery on the life of King David.

So tune in to learn about The Cause of Sin, The Cost of Sin and The Challenges to Sin, something all of us must wrestle with when we name the name of Jesus as our LORD and Savior.

SDG 221 End Time Issue: Creation vs Evolution part 2

SDG 218 End Time Issue: Gambling

    in Spirituality

    Acts 19:21–32

In the Book of Acts there's a story where the apostle Paul got in trouble with the city fathers when he opposed Demetrius the silversmith and his idol business and preached Christ instead of the godess Diana..
Now today in these end times we aren't dealing with Demetrius the silversmith and the idols made to the goddess Diana, we face the onslaught of legalized gambling and the god Mammon.

The Bible doesn't have a specific commandment against gambling however, in this study we will learn how it transgresses 4 Godly and Biblical principles: honesty, love, work and providence.

SDG 220 End Time Issue: Creation vs Evolution

    in Spirituality

    1 Timothy 6:20

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

You know we all need the mind of Christ, and that's what we’re going to seek as we turn to God’s Word and deal with the enemy's lie of evolution.
Sadly many today believe that evolution ought to be taught in our public schools as a science fact and not  merely as the unproven and very poorly founded theory that it actually is.
So evolutionists simply claim we go from step to step with nothing but lots of time and plenty of chance! And honestly that's just a pillow for a lazy thinker to lay their head upon.

So tune in to hear three compelling reasons why many intelligent and well-trained people reject evolution.
