Scott Cluthe talks with Linda Carroll about her new book, Love Cycles: The Five Essential Stages of Lasting Love. Carroll has over 30 years experience as a couples therapist.

Linda Carroll's Love Cycles will teach you how to rediscover love, fun, and passion in your most intimate partnership, no matter how challenging your relationship has become. It is a book that is relevant and applicable to people of all ages, gender identifications, social backgrounds, and personal histories.
Full disclosure: This is not the usual kind of self-help book. Instead, Love Cyclesis an original and coherent theory about the cycle of romantic relationships, providing a guide for how to effectively navigate this cycle—whether you are gay or straight, single, divorced, coupled, married, or contemplating engagement.

Love Cycles will help you to understand where you are in the circle of a relationship and provide strategies and clarity on how stay happy and committed, even in difficult times. Our road map will take you from The Merge, through Doubt and Denial, Disillusionment, and Decision to the joy of Wholehearted Love.
Love Cycles unlocks the secrets of attraction, showing why we don't always choose the person who is best for us, why even the most solid-seeming couples don't always make it & more.

The fascinating story of America’s love of vitamins—and how it affects our health

Should I take a multivitamin? Does vitamin C really prevent colds? Can I get enough vitamin D from the sun? Are dietary supplements safe? How much of each vitamin do I need?

There’s no question that Americans are fascinated by vitamins and nutrition – we think that vitamins are always good for us, and that the more we can get, the better. But how much about vitamins do we really know? And how might the answer to that question affect the way we eat?

When it comes to vitamins, it turns out that the experts themselves are surprisingly short on answers. Yes, we need the thirteen dietary chemicals known as vitamins; without them, we would die. Yet despite a century of scientific research (the word “vitamin” was coined only in 1911), there is little agreement around even the simplest of questions, whether it’s exactly how much of each vitamin we each require or what these chemicals actually do.

Scottt Cluthe Live with Dr George Brown on his work and books, The Overparenting Epidemic and Blending Families Successfully. Call in at 347-308-8478

Whatever we label it, overparenting—anxious, invasive, overly attentive, and competitive parenting—may have finally backfired. As we witness the first generation of overparented children becoming adults in their own right, many studies show that when baby boomer parents intervene inappropriately––with too much advice, excessive favors, and erasing obstacles that kids should negotiate themselves––their “millennial” children end up ill-behaved, anxious, narcissistic, entitled youths unable to cope with everyday life. The obsession with providing everything a child could possibly need, from macrobiotic cupcakes to 24/7 tutors, has created epidemic levels of depression and stress in our country’s youth, but this can be avoided if parents would just take a giant step back, check their ambitions at the door, and do what’s really best for their kids.

Written by a noted psychiatrist and a parenting specialist, The Overparenting Epidemic is a science-based yet humorous and practical book that features an easy-to-read menu of pragmatic, reasonable advice for how to parent children effectively and lovingly without overdoing it, especially in the context of today’s demanding world

    Learning How to Love Others

    in Spirituality

Mark 12:31 tells us to "Love our neighbor as yourself." The Bible also tells us that we should love and pray for our enemies (Matthew 5:44) but loving others isn't always easy, esspecially when other people are different than us, ridicule us, lie on us, betray us, take advanatge of us, etc. Loving others may even seem foolish to some people--"How can you not hate them after what they did to you? Are you a glutton for punishment?!" Loving and forgiving others doesn't mean that you are condoning that's person's actions; you are simply not allowing that person's actions or character to affect you. God continues to love us in spite of the things we do but He wants us to change and He doesn't  want us to keep holding onto bitterness when He tols us to cast our cares on Him. Tune in and find out what prevents you from loving others and what you can do to change.
