In this episode of CreditHavins I will be discussing strategies to improve your FICO credit scores but also steps that also need to be taken into consideration when looking to be approved for a mortgage loan.
Based on 2 articles in the Sunday Jan 26 2014 edition of the Whittier Daily News.
Education Under Construction By Rob Kuznia and
a Commentary "Lawsuit wrongly targets state's teachers" By Lorraine Richards
What caught my mind was the placement of the two articles. The first being test scores will be going down and then the commentary about getting rid of poor performing teachers.
So tonight I just want to offer my thoughts about the articles.
It is hard not to be human. We are a fallen being. We have to understand we a programed to do the wrong thing. We are selfish and awful. So even in this political season when there are great opportunities we must resist the temptation to settle old scores.
We may want to hide this in so-called reform, but the truth is that we are trying to press an advantage to "stick it" to people that we have disagreement with.
So today we are going talk about the practice of the COUP as practiced by some Campaign For Liberty groups across the nation. Not going to make any friends today.
Today my guest is Lauren Gaggioli, Higher Scores Test Prep. After graduating from New York University with her B.F.A. in Theater, Lauren moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles. To make time for auditions during the day, she called upon her nerdy roots from her high school days and began tutoring the SAT and ACT. She quickly fell in love – not with the exams, but with the feeling that she was helping students put their feet on a firm path towards a big, bright future.
After 7 years working as an in-home tutor with a large test prep firm and then in her own independent tutoring company, Lauren distilled her experiences into the personalized SAT prep course that is now available through Higher Scores Test Prep. Lauren’s love of teaching and compassion for what students are facing in today’s complex, competitive college admissions landscape allows her to bring a little bit of calm to her corner of the college admissions process.
Lauren is also the host of The College Checklist podcast. In the podcast, she interviews college counselors and other college admissions professionals, bringing timely, relevant information to today’s college bound families. It’s just one more way she’s working to calm the crazy inherent in today’s stressful college application process.
America's second most egregious sin is the deliberate failing public school system. Education is a civil right and the system itself is proving to be a cash cow for corrupt politicians and government employee's. The callous response of the system controlled by the Teachers Union is criminal and the only way this will ever change is through parental revolt. Protest should be unimpeded until the destruction of this pipeline to destruction is abolished.

In this episode I want to talk about the word "procrastination". What that means to you and your credit repair efforts. Why it's good to jump in now as there's no time like the present.
Why don't you present yourself a gift; begin in the present to get your present.
Don't wait until it's too late. Get started now.

Since NJ is the Garden State, Jersey Fresh takes on a special meaning for those who choose to buy their fruits and veggies locally. Seasonal abundance can be found at the scores of farmer’s markets throughout the state. What’s that you say? You don’t know where to find the nearest farmer’s market and don’t even know the difference between an acorn squash and a fava bean? And how do I cook rhubarb and what do I do with all those blueberries? Problem solved. Chef and culinary instructor Rachel Weston is on the case. Weston is an award-winning journalist with over 20 years of experience as a writer, editor and multimedia content producer. Her work has been in The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, The Gutsy Gourmet column in The Star-Ledger, NJ.com, and Chow.com among others. In 2008, Rachel followed her passion, attended culinary school, and ultimately worked the line at a fine dining restaurant, and was the founding chef at the first pay-what-you-can community cafe on the East Coast. Rachel’s book is New Jersey Fresh: Four Seasons from Farm to Table. It’s a collection of recipe ideas and tips for over 50 types of locally grown produce available at NJ farmer’s markets. She spotlights several markets and offers insights on fruits and veggies, from bok choy and fava beans to blueberries, corn, tomatoes, and peaches. Rachel takes the guesswork out of buying locally and is committed to teaching home cooks about using local and seasonal foods in their kitchens. “I wanted it to be a guide you could throw in your market bag,” she says. The book includes a listing of over 100 farmer's markets in NJ. After the interview, check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.
