I will go into fine detail of my casual friendship with Larry Elder that promalgated this broadcast. I lived in Los Angeles from 1999-2012 and also 1987-1991. I became a listener of Larry's show on KABC. I didin't agree with him on all levels. I was stuck on the AM dial due to my car and listened to his rants & jokes. He once criticized Viola Davis after the Oscars in which the Help was nominated by playing the song "Who Let the Dogs out." He then glorified Meryl Streep. Larry has dichotomously insulted the Black race over and over by duking it out with Tavis Smiley, criticizing Al Sharpton's tax evasion while failing to mention the fact that his ex prostitute girlfriend scammed the government with unpaid taxes. I am holding Larry to the same standards he impresses on the Black race by blaming them fastidiously for most of American crime, lack of educational achievement, being lazy ass workers when he systematically exploits his personal take on social problems without uncovering the multi dimensional aspects of growing up in underclass America. I will also make forgiving remarks toward his girlfriend for the broadcast we aired last night in which yes she was somewhat a naieve woman who fell into high end prostitution, but no, she was not a sexual trafficking victim. She got paid and paid well. If a Black woman had fallen into prostitution then claimed to be a sexually trafficked victim, would Larry embrace her story? Well, now he is engaged to a white woman with a dark past which he managed to forgive of past sins but he won't forgive the perceived sins of his own race.
I look forward to interviewing Art Maines about his important book, SCAMMED: YOUR ELDER PARENTS AND YOURSELF. Art assists people to recover funds and property from those that have taken adavantage of senior parents and loved ones. Con-artists frequently target seniors, not only because they have resources, but because very few crimes are reported, charged and convicted. Art's book walks people through the process of recovering that which was lost. He reveals the seriousness of these crimes and seeks to break down the myths that reporting such a crime reflects badly on the victims.

Author Robyn Webb joins host Robin Milling to discuss her E-book 'The Paris Vacation Apartment Guide.' Inspired by her love of Paris and desire to live amongst the locals, Robyn crafted this how-to guide with detailed instructions on how to find the perfect Parisian apartment for your next visit to the city of lights.
Robyn, who grew up in the hotel business as her parents worked for the famed Concord hotel was like Eloise of the Borscht Belt. A foodie, nutritionist and cookbook author, she changed to apartment renting in Paris for the excitement of cooking her own meals; even buying aluminum foil. She talks about some of the challenges she experienced the first time renting like getting the key into the front door! However she assures that rental agencies provide on-sight assistance when emergencies arise. Private listing services like Air B 'n' B come with a renter beware warning, as Robyn discusses the potential nightmare of being homeless on the streets of Paris when dealing with an owner.
If you've never been to Paris and don't speak a word of French, don't fret as Robyn takes you through the process step by step so that you feel comfortable in your new surroundings without getting scammed!
You can find Robyn's E-book at Amazon
Do You Know What Your Clients are Saying About You?
Do You Know What Your Clients Are Saying
Because I do. Well, probably not you specifically but I get calls every week from prospective clients that begin with a complaint of the first PI they called or hired. In the interest of personal development, a closer look at a few common complaints I hear may be insightful.
“The last place wouldn’t even quote me a solid price.”
If you deal with new calls that are not from attorneys or other service firms, the client’s number one concern at the start of the call is likely how much your service is going to cost. Your client wants to know that your fee is reasonable for the service you provide and that they are not going to be ripped off or scammed in any way.
This may not be the most common complaint I hear about other PI’S but it is one you can easily avoid by being transparent. Gather the information you need to quote a price to get the job done and quote a firm price. If there will likely be additional fees, especially if the amount is unknown, make sure your client understands this up front and save frustration down the road. Under-Promise and Over-Deliver.
The tightrope walk is often about securing a fair price for your time and energy without scaring away your prospect. I have found that the secret to overcoming a client’s possible “sticker shock” when you talk money is to show your client as much value as you can before you quote your fee. If your client trusts that you are the right person for the job, the exact dollar amount becomes much less important to them.
Reigning from the small town of Tyner, NC, John McCraig Overton, Delmonte Jordan, and Antonio Copeland not only share a love for music, but they also share a bond that links them more than music ever could. Although John and Delmonte were born on the same day and one hour apart, John is Delmonte's uncle. Virtually raised as brothers, they would later meet Antonio at a restaurant where they all worked. They went from flipping burgers to flipping beats and rhymes and that would eventually become life for these three gentlemen. Speaking of life, these young men faced the typical trials and tribulations that most youth do growing up in North Carolina but their passion for sports, video games, and girls kept them on the right path. They understood at a young age that getting money was their main objective and they wanted to get it through something the invoked passion in the people around them and not fear. Since that point, Da Gwop Krew has been on a relentless mission to get that gwop.
Art is the author of Scammed: 3 Steps to Help Your Elder Parents and Yourself, and has also been a speaker on elderly fraud prevention and recovery at both the state and national level. He has trained on topics related to elderly fraud recovery and prevention to professional groups and senior organizations, and has consulted with scam victims’ families locally and nationally. Drawing on his own experience helping his 83 year old stepfather recover from a series of devastating scams, and his clinical skills as a practicing therapist, gives him a unique perspective on this growing problem.
