Today, I will talk about some idiotic comments made by liberal comedienne extraordinaire, Rosie O'Donnel and the situation brewing in Ferguson, MO concerning the Mike Brown incident.

The Author Chat Show with Lynda D. Brown

    in Books

Meet author Alan Noble. Alan will be chatting with me today about his book, Climbing for Roots: Christian Foundations for Young Believers.

    About the book:

Sin, that diabolical disease of the spirit, has infected the entire human race! What is it? Essentially it is missing the mark. Mankind has been missing the mark since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. After that, everything went south. God’s perfect creation was in need of repair.

But because of His great love He sent His Son, Jesus, to make things the way they were supposed to be. The same immeasurable power that created the universe gave all of mankind an ability to be in God’s fellowship because of what Jesus did for us.

Climbing for Roots will explain fully the sin that so completely corrupted creation, and the plan of God for our salvation. We learn that Jesus is not only our Savior, but is also the Lord of our lives. What does that mean? That obedience will never earn us God’s love but it will always produce blessing. We learn that our salvation is secure, but we must strive for obedience because we are created to do good works.

    About the author:

Alan R. Noble is a born-again Christian, schooled in the Word since childhood. Mr. Noble was educated at William Paterson University, a liberal arts institute in Northern New Jersey, and received a B.A. in education, with a certificate to teach elementary school. Later, he received an M.A. in Communication Arts, and a certificate in supervision. He worked as an educator for 31 years. Alan and his wife, Kathy, reside in Kansas City, MO.

    in Books

My guest on Saturday Dec. 13th is author Mark Smith. I'll be chatting with him about the book he co-wrote with his wife, Brenda, One Last Hurrah: A Story of Making Peace and Making a Difference.

    About the book:

I write this book to share my life story with whoever wants to learn that, from the most meager beginnings wrecked with abuse and negativity, a human being can emerge as a whole person who has much to give to the world around him.
Follow me as I take you through my life from a troubled childhood, through the world of professional wrestling, to youth ministry and foster parent. It is here that I have found the most rewarding life: sharing

    About the author:

I was born the youngest of five to a mother and father that fought every day that I can remember.  My father had an explosive temper and it was nothing for him to violently beat us and throw tools at us while at our family-owned gas station.  I slept with a baseball bat every night.  All through the house, you could find fist wholes behind pictures on the wall and in doors.  When my parents divorced after 30 tortuous years, I was then subjected to a step-father who had a drug problem; taking over 20 Percodan’s a day.

Author Gary Rodriguez will be my guest on Sunday, Dec. 14th. We'll be chatting about his new book, Escape Through the Wilderness.

    About the book:

Escape Through The Wilderness is a timely reminder that children's adventure stories remain ever popular and this is one that deserves to grab the spotlight. A full on attention grabber from the start, Rodriguez spins his debut in endearing prose, his plot exciting, inventive and wholly convincing in its implementation, with plenty of unpredicted twists and turns along the way. Undeniably, a story about friendship, his young protagonists are ably observed with well-crafted personas which allow room for growth as their peril evolves. It’s a splendid telling that will certainly engage the imaginations of his young readers. There’s suspense, plenty of tension and gratifyingly dark overtures which children will lap up, but it never feels rushed with every chapter leaving the reader hungry for more. On cursory reflection it is simply a cracking story, but the thematic undertones reflect the loss of innocence and the fundamental issue of survival which would be invaluable for parent-child discussion.

    About the author:

My name is Gary Rodriguez, and I live in California. I'm the president of LeaderMetrix Inc., a consulting company that specializes in senior-level executive coaching, organizational development, and conflict resolution.
Previously, I worked for eighteen years in the radio business as an executive where I spent several years as one of the original managers of Infinity Broadcasting.

The Author Chat Show with Lynda D. Brown

    in Books

Meet St Louis author Raechel 'Dr. Rae" Rivers.  I'll be chatting with "Dr. Rae" about her book, Journey to Self: Journey to Love.

    About the book:

Journey to Self: Journey to Love is a collection of personal poems, thoughts, and blog entries from my journey through love. In searching for love, I've continued to make a full circle back to myself and my Creator. Some of the stories are sad and some funny, but all are worth sharing. It is my hope that lives will be touched and changed by seeing the authenticity of my experiences and perceptions. I'm not afraid of the truth; it is what sets me free . . . During my short 30 years of life, I've experienced so much about "love" and relationships. I trust that we all have experienced our fair share. What if your experiences and being healed from the lessons learned are a part of your assignment from God? Now who signs up for heartache and pain? Not one of us. If these experiences can be used to help a younger generation or to help heal another, I'm ready to share. What I've learned about love is that it is a journey just like life! Sure it hasn't all been roses and it hasn't all been heartache, but it has been a road that has led me back to my first love; God, my Creator. This is the refreshing part of the journey. This is the part of the journey where all of Heaven and the Angels rejoice in knowing that we have remembered the One who first loved us.

    About the author:

Raechel "Dr. Rae" Rivers was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She has enjoyed creative writing since childhood.

    in Books

Meet author Jack Barr. I'll be chatting with Jack about his new book, Failing at Fatherhood: A Book for the Imperfect Father.

    About the book:

"Why do I fear her so much? Marley is my own flesh and blood, yet I lie here silently as a new father wondering if I will be here in the morning."

When Jack Barr and his wife, Jana, had their first child, they were overcome with joy and excitement. Three days later, as they prepared to leave the hospital, two doctors entered their room debating whether newborn baby Marley, had Down syndrome. Mixed in with the confusion of whether or not their daughter was chromosomally different, Jack and Jana knew their lives would be changed forever.

Failing at Fatherhood embraces Jack's honest struggles as a father, after receiving his child's diagnosis of Down syndrome three weeks after her birth. He excavates the past, examines the present, and explores his future life in a sincere attempt to understand his personal failures as a father during his first year of parenthood. Throughout the book, Jack wrestles with the decision of divorce, suicide, and the existence of God. However, with His ultimate direction, Jack is able to understand the significance of fathers being committed to their children.

    About the author:

Three years ago, Jack and Jana did not know God would use their daughter Marley, to forever alter their life plan. Marley was born with Down syndrome and that event sent Jack crashing into a sea of depression. "I could not overcome the question of, Why us God"? Since that day, Jack and Jana have rerouted their plan to align with God's plan. They started, If They Had A Voice, an awareness campaign that focuses on Down syndrome abortions.
