Energy: Why Did Shell Throw in the Towel on the Canadian Oil Sands?

    in Business

Oil sands are becoming more common in the energy sector, and with the amount of work it takes to clean these sands, it's no wonder the cost is so high. Shell not only dropped out of the Arctic after building up all the hype, but now they're letting go of oil sands projects, citing the company's business structure as the problem.

All the while, a "cash crunch" is enveloping the Fab Four in the oil and gas sector, but although these numbers are huge to a layperson, their cash reserves seem to be singing a different tune.

Mary Baker Eddy - Rebel w/Christ with Martha Densmore

    in Spirituality

Martha Densmore stumbled across Mary Baker Eddy, the iconic founder of our present New Age Movement.  Like so many women of history, she's been lost to the sands of time, swept under the rug in our male dominated world, but we aim to uncover and discover Mary Baker Eddy tonight on our show.  Martha Densmore will share with us her findings of this obscure but important woman from the 1800s who was a feminist in her time and bewildered by the idea of a male-only God in Christianity.  Mary Baker Eddy founded the first and last state chartered Metaphysical Science college, published numerous books, healed people and founded a publication society that's still prosperous today - the Christian Science Monitor Newspaper, that's won 7 Pulitizer Prizes.

  • The Kerri Edelman Show presents Hard Rock Band Art of Dying

    in Rock Music

There is an old saying which claims that great art is 90% perspiration and 10% inspiration. The truth though is that exceptional creativity is nurtured by a complexly brewed combination of unswerving dedication and God-given talent. It’s a fact no better illustrated than by the history of Vancouver’s hard-rockers ART OF DYING and their talismanic frontman Jonny Hetherington. What ART OF DYING has been able to create is muscular, vivacious hard-rock bursting with lung-shattering choruses and a sincerity that is impossible to fake. Equally at home with a lead-fingered riff or a deft slow-burner, there is an ease of breadth in AOD’s repertoire that would send most of their peers salad-green with envy. Gradually, Hetherington’s ambitions grew beyond his local sidewalk and he began to seek out like-minded collaborators that he could expand his already impressive template with. Drummer Jeff Brown was swiftly recruited and he and Hetherington set about formulating the powerful nucleus of what ART OF DYING would soon become. It was recordings of those initial sessions that would eventually find their way into the hands on DISTURBED’s Dan Donegan - a guitarist with both a fine personal pedigree and a keen ear for new talent. Plucked from relative obscurity, the band introduced guitarist Tavis Stanley and bassist Cale Gontier to their ranks on the eve of the run with DISTURBED - the quartet playing onstage together for the very first time during the soundcheck of the opening show of the tour. Now, with a critically-acclaimed and widely-played major label debut under their belts, ART OF DYING are returning with new long-player RISE UP, their most imperious effort to date and, by the band’s own admission the truest representation of their sound they’ve ever distilled, which was produced by David Bendeth (Bring Me The Horizon, Breaking Benjamin, Of Mice & Men). SDG 213 End Time Issues We All Must Face

    in Spirituality

    2 Timothy 3:1

We live in very dangerous days, Paul told Timothy that these would be "perilous times” and that's why I call them dangerous days.

I believe with all my heart and soul that the sands of time are running out on our generation. I believe that we are in the shadows of the end the age. I believe that Jesus Christ is coming back very very soon.

Now I could be wrong, and I'm not a date setter yet I cannot deny the feeling of my heart and the signs of the times.

And I'm not out here trying to save the world, because anybody who knows the Bible would never be so foolish as to try to save this world.  This world is on a collision course with judgment and disaster.  Besides the gospel isn't intended to save civilization from destruction the purpose of the gospel is to save men from the wreckage of civilization.

So the Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) is intended by God for snatching men, women, boys, and girls from the burning fire as The Bible warns them that the world is headed for judgment.

But bless God there's a new world coming!

Now there's a lot of social engineers out there today doing their very best to save this world, and they remind me of people rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

The truth us that we all need find our way in these last days, but not only to survive, but to thrive and to be victorious.

So as we prepare to go to heaven, we need to take as many as we can along with us.

And, I believe that’s what the Apostle Paul is talking about here in 2 Timothy 3.

So in this message we will outline some of the horrible issues we’re facing as our Lord tarries and chart the course for following series of messages.
