    "Playing Saint" with Zachary Bartels

    in Books

Yesterday, Parker Saint’s only concern was his swiftly rising star power. Today, he’s just trying to stay alive.

Parker Saint is living the dream. A cushy job at a thriving megachurch has him on the verge of becoming a bestselling author and broadcast celebrity—until life takes an abrupt turn that lands him on the wrong side of the law. To avoid a public scandal, he agrees to consult with the police on a series of brutal murders linked by strange religious symbols scrawled on each victim.

Parker tries to play the expert, but he is clearly in over his head. Drawn ever deeper into a web of intrigue involving a demanding detective, a trio of secretive Vatican operatives, and a centuries-old conspiracy to conceal a mysterious relic, he realizes for the first time that the battle between good and evil is all too real—and that the killer is coming back . . . this time for him..

An award-winning preacher and Bible teacher, Zachary Bartels has been serving as pastor of Judson Baptist Church in Lansing, Michigan, for nearly ten years. He earned his BA in world religions from Cornerstone University and his Masters of Divinity from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He enjoys film, fine cigars, stimulating conversation, gourmet coffee, reading, writing, and cycling.

His debut novel, Playing Saint, has been called an “intrigue-filled thriller” (Library Journal) and “a page-turner from the very beginning . . . gripping and realistic” (RT Book Reviews). His next book, The Last Con (HarperCollins Christian Fiction) will be released in the summer of 2015. He lives in the capital city of a mitten-shaped Midwestern state with his wife Erin and their son.

3rd Annual Halloween DreamWalk with Adamus Saint-Germain!

    in Spirituality

Just beyond the physical dimensions of Earth are the Astral Planes, where people go when they die and often remain until their next incarnation. Many lost and confused beings get stuck in the densest of these planes and become what we know as ghosts, demons, and energy-feeding entities. More than just a visit to the spook-filled territories, this 3rd annual Halloween DreamWalk with Adamus Saint-Germain is a profound experience of compassion and realization.

Adamus says, “Life is where you put your consciousness,” and goes on to explain how our consciousness has become rather constricted in this limited earthly reality. He also talks about Time, and how it is not linear but rather a “time-scape” which can be accessed at many different points.

Then, with the assistance of Archangel Michael, Adamus commences the DreamWalk, inviting you to feel some of the beings who inhabit these realms, including someone close to you who has passed on. With constant reminders to stay in compassion, you are guided to many different dimensions, finally meeting a group of beings that are of very special importance to you.

Patrick Christopher Chouinard: Lost Race of the Giants

    in News

An exploration of mythological and archaeological evidence for prehistoric giants

    • Examines the many corresponding giant mythologies throughout the world, such as the Greek and Roman titans, Norse frost giants, and the biblical Nephilim

    • Reveals recent finds of giant skeletons in the deserts of Saudi Arabia and India

    • Explains how giants passed on their sophisticated culture and civilization to humanity before being wiped out in the great age of cataclysms and floods

Giants are a cornerstone of the myths, legends, and traditions of almost every culture on Earth. Stories of giants are often considered fantasies of the ancients or primitive attempts to explain natural phenomena, but archaeological discoveries of 10- and 12-foot skeletons--many of which have been suppressed--confirm the existence of a forgotten golden age of giants before recorded history.

Patrick Chouinard examines the staggering number of corresponding giant mythologies throughout the world, such as the Greek and Roman titans, Norse frost giants, the Hindu Daityas, the biblical Nephilim, the Celtic Formorach, the Sumerian Anunnaki, and the multitude of myths in which the sky or world is held aloft on the shoulders of a giant. He links these stories to Atlantis as well as other legends of prehistoric civilizations lost to cataclysm and great floods whose survivors spawned the rise of ancient civilizations.

Patrick Chouinard is a writer, freelance journalist, and former producer of Archaeology TV. The editor in chief of The New Archaeology Review and the author ofForgotten Worlds, he lives in North Largo, Florida.

Remembering Georges Gurdjieff: Interview with William Patrick Patterson, part 2

    in Spirituality

This week on SOTT Talk Radio we're joined again by William Patrick Patterson. Listeners can hear the first part of our interview with Mr. Patterson here. After many years as a student of The Fourth Way and discovering no answer to the question that had gradually formed in him—what is the 'self' in self-remembering?—Mr. Patterson was called to explore Advaita Vedanta (non-dualism). In doing so, he realized the full significance of the ideas and practices of The Fourth Way and how this sacred and seminal teaching provided not only the necessary foundation, but was applicable on the very highest levels.

Mr. Patterson is the founder/director of The Gurdjieff Studies Program and has led groups, as well as given seminars and talks, throughout the United States for many years. He has written nine books on the teaching, including Struggle of the Magicians, and has directed, written and narrated the award-winning video trilogy The Life & Significance of George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff, and the just-released video Introduction to Gurdjieff's Fourth Way: From Selves to Individual Self to The Self. Mr. Patterson's latest book is Georgi Ivanovitch Gurdjieff: The Man, The Teaching, His Mission.

Tune in this Sunday November 30th, 2014 from 2-3pm EST (11-12am PST / 8-9pm CET/ 7-8pm UTC) for another enlightening discussion on the meaning of all and everything.
