The Safety Dance
The GM biotech industry assures us they have conducted adequate safety studies of genetically modified foods, and that these DNA manipulated foods are entirely safe for human consumption. To bolster their claims of safety, the industry loves to tout the names and institutions of corroborating scientists. However, these same scientists and institutions are among the hidden benefactors funded by the very industry they support. Contrarily, a wealth of independent testing by credible and experienced scientists around the world, reveals consistently frightening results, all pointing to the dire health risks of long term GMO consumption. All of these test studies are inexplicably and vehemently dismissed by the profit driven biotech industry under claims such as a lack of credibility and faulty testing. It is alarming the protective agencies put in place to keep us safe do not even conduct their own testing of these foods, and instead rely on the tests supplied to them by corporations like Monsanto. In the safety dance of the GM biotech industry, it is the unsuspecting consumer who is not so safe after all.

School Safety - Keeping our children safe while at school
With the mountain of problems in our schools today, it's a wonder our youth are able to focus on their studies. With the issues of students bringing guns to schools, school shootings, bullying, and cyber-bullying.But, there are teachers and principals that works hard everyday to make a difference, keeping our babies safe in school. Today I will be talking with the Principal of Kennedy Middle School in Charlotte, North Carolina Kevin Sudimack. He is one to push school safety and creating a productive learning environment for the students in Kennedy Middle School. Hear how he has turned around the schools reputation. Memorial Day Weekend Activies and Safety
While summer do not start for about another month, Memorial Day has been recognized as the start of summer vacations, family get togethers and festivals.
Each one consist of travel. Today there is a huge alert from AAA DOT and State Patrol about the deadly increase of driver s texting while driving. To be sure, the traffic cops will be writing citations for all who break the law, as in, 'Click It or Ticket', 'DUI', and 'Driving While Texting'.
Memorial Day should be full of music and laughter at the beach, parks , or festivals, and not crying over the dead. Make sure to check your vehicle for repairs before getting your family and friends on the rode, and remember, no texting while driving'.

Since co-founding Owlstone, Billy has been overseeing the development and implementation of the detection technology with nanotechnology foundry partners. He is also active in business development, demonstrating to partners how the Owlstone technology can used to realise a paradigm shift in detection applications and deployment scenarios. Billy is heavily involved in the creation and realisation of new technologies and IP. Prior to joining Owlstone Billy was a Research Associate in the Microsystems and Nanotech group at Cambridge University.
