Sacred Sunday~I Corinthians Chapter 9/Support Your Local Apostle

    in Spirituality

Welcome to Sacred Sunday! Today we are reading I Corinthians Chapter 9.

    Support Your Apostle

Paul is kind of a big deal. He's an apostle. He's seen the Risen Christ. Even the fact that the church in Corinth exists is proof that God is working through him. Boo-ya.
He explains that, as an apostle, he is entitled to monetary support from his fellow Christians. Must be in the fine print of his contract.
He should get free food and beverages (no more BYOB for Paul!). He should have a faithful wife traveling by his side (a really cute one!). He shouldn't have to work little side jobs (tent-making can be a real drag). Really, the Corinthians should be fully supporting him.

    Eyes on the Prize

But Paul doesn't roll this way.
Even though these are his rights, even though this is what God demands, Paul never took advantage of these perks.
And don't worry, he's not going to start doing it now. He's just trying to make a point. So put away your wallets, okay?
All Paul is saying is that he chose this life freely. He gets to spread the gospel around free of charge to everyone.
Paul might be free, but he's made himself into a slave (sans chains) in order to win more converts to Christ.
Wherever he goes, he becomes like the people he's with so that he can help convince them that Jesus is Lord. We believe this is called empathy.
And you've got to stay strong throughout. Christians are like world-class athletes. They have to train and be super discipled in order to win the prize at the end. The prize in this case is a little nicer than a trophy.
This is how Paul lives his life. Just a hint, Corinthians. Thanks to www.shmoop.com

“You may feel like working through all the questions here in one long session. Or you may want to focus on one or two of the questions at a time, and go deeply into what they mean for you. There is no right way or wrong way—there is only your way.
Use the questions that follow to explore your attitudes toward your womb as part of your Sacred Womb Journal work in the privacy of your home. If you choose, you may share your experiences in your Sacred Womb Circle.”

Archbishop Ron Feyl~Chief Exorcist/Sacred Order of Saint Michael the Archangel

    in Paranormal

    Archbishop Ron Feyl, SOSM

Catholic Archbishop Ron Feyl has been in catholic ministry for over 30 years. His episcopal orders were conferred in 1979 by Archbishop Gregory Michael David Voris, who adheres to the faith of the Seven Ecumenical Councils and the Three Ecumenical Creeds. Archbishop Ron Feyl is the Presiding Bishop of The Sacred Order of Saint Michael the Archangel and Chief Exorcist for the Order of Exorcists which is under the Independent Catholic jurisdiction of a Traditional "Old" Roman Catholic Order, with valid lines of Apostolic Succession. From the early 1980's Archbishop Ron Feyl, SOSM has been involved in a not so popular ministry, called exorcism. He was trained by many exorcists over the years who were his mentor's and former bishops. With over 30 years of experience he established an Order of Exorcist within the Sacred Order of Saint Michael the Archangel, which is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) religious organization. This Order remains connected to the Roman Catholic Church by "Dominus Iesus" issued by the Roman Catholic Magisterium in the year 2000, signed by Pope John Paul 11 on June 16, and Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger on August 6, which states: "The churches which, while not existing in perfect communion with the (Roman) Catholic Church, remain united to her by means of the closest bonds, that is, by Apostolic Succession and a valid Eucharist, are true particular churches." His Order is located in 24 countries. The HQ is in Ontario, California. Go to the website for more information http://www.orderofexorcists.weebly.com

Sacred Sunday~I Corinthians Chapter 6/Sue Not, Lest Ye Be Sued

    in Paranormal

    Welcome to Sacred Sunday!

Sue Not, Lest Ye Be Sued. Paul has some other advice. Don't take each other to court over every little thing. Somewhere, Judge Judy is cheering. Sue Not, Lest Ye Be Sued. Seriously, Corinthians.  Let the church community help settle it. Sounds like a good idea. That's way better than going in front of a bunch of non-believers in Roman courts. What would be even better was if Christians didn't sue each other at all, but Paul's not going to shoot for the moon here. Kingdom of God Entrance Exam. After all, Paul explains, terrible people are not going to inherit the kingdom of God. Not even a little bit. Fornicators? Idolaters? Adulterers? Male prostitutes? Sodomites? Thieves? Greedy folks? Drunks? Abusers? They're all out. Paul points out that some of the folks in the Christian church used to be guilty of this kind of stuff. Uh-oh…But, then they were baptized in Christ and it's all good.  Let's just try to keep it that way, guys. It Does a Body Good. Because they've become new people through baptism, it seems the Corinthians think that they can do whatever they like. Not quite. Sure, they could go around having sex with loads of different people and eating whatever they want, but Paul doesn't really think this is a swell idea. They've got to treat their bodies right. After all, the Corinthians' bodies belong to God. They're his temples, remember? Besides, it's not like their bodies are going to get left behind in the end. Nope. God is going to raise them up… eventually. So that means if you have some sexy times with a prostitute, then you're becoming one with a prostitute and not with God. Look, Paul says, the point is, our bodies aren't our own. We can't just go around sleeping with whomever and think it's a-okay, because it is not. There goes the Corinthians' fun weekend plans. Science for the sake of Science

    in Self Help

There is a lot of research going on today.  Some of the research has a true purpose, some of it does not.  For example scientists are saying that within the next 5 to 10 years they will be able to produce a dinosaur.  Why do we need dinosaurs?  What can making a dinosaur do to advance civilization?  Where is the benefit in making dinosaurs?  Are we planning on making them the new weapon of mass destruction?  they would definitely be biological in nature.

There is value in cancer research and learning how to improve our daily lives.  I believe in space exploration but the need is becoming more real on a daily basis as we continue to destroy this planet.  We need to enjoy the beauty of our world and find ways to make it better.

People are a great natural resource but they have not learned to be good care givers of the planet.  You don't have to be rich to be a good caretaker all you have to do is take care of the planet on a daily basis.

Science is a tool which can be used for good or evil.  Science for the sake of science is dangerous especially when we ignore the creator.

We need to reign in science that seems to be running amok and not let them go unchecked.

    Sacred Sunday~Romans 15/Love One Another

    in Christianity

Good morning! Today we are reading Romans Chapter 15.

Really, Paul just wants all the Romans to live in harmony together and glorify God together without worrying about their differences. Remember, Christ is with the Jewish-Christians and the Gentile-Christians, too. So let's all play nice. Paul actually has a good feeling about the Romans. He knows they're upstanding people who are knowledgeable and can help each other do what's right by God. He's only written to them to tell them all this and to give them advice because of his special relationship with God. What can we say. The Big Guy loves helping Paul write all his correspondence. Not that's he's bragging or anything. Paul would only ever brag about all the good things that God has done through him. So modest. For example, Paul has won tons of converts through the entire Roman Empire, but that's all God's doing. He made that happen. Paul's not usually in the business of preaching about Jesus where people already know him. He also doesn't usually come into a church community he didn't found, like the one in Rome, and start handing out advice. No, never. That's why he hasn't been to see the Roman Christians in person yet. He's been meaning to, but there are just so many non-believers who need to hear the good news first hand. Paul's got a busy schedule. But now he's fresh out of non-believers to convert in the area, so he's going to head over to Rome soon and stay a while on his way to preach the gospel in Spain. Oh, bull fighting? Not, quite. Before that, Paul has got to make a quick pit stop in Jerusalem. The folks in Macedonia and Achaia have taken up a nice collection for the poor there and he's gonna drop off the money. Mission possible! Special thanks to www.shmoop.com.
