Behavior is said to be self-sabotaging when it creates problems and interferes with long-standing goals.
The most common self-sabotaging behaviors are mind chatter; procrastination; busyness; perfectionism; day dreaming; low self esteem; fear.
Self-sabotage is when part of your personality acts in conflict with another part of your personality.
I like this self-sabotage definition because it gets to the core of what’s going on. When you engage in self-sabotaging behaviors, it’s because there’s a conflict in your personality. One side of you wants one thing. The other side of you wants something completely different.
Self-defeating, self-sabotaging behaviors can be serious, like substance abuse, overeating, and even self-injury.
Do you ever wonder what happens your goals and ideals for success, One day you are feeling on top of the world about your life; you call your friends and tell them about all the new projects you will start. You may even talk about all the money that can potentially come your way because of your found belief in yourself. And then all of sudden you change your mind or your position on the situation. You may even decide on a better idea or something that is even more successful a day , a week, a year later. The problem your situation is, you just do not follow through. We are going to deal with a little know enemy of the mind and it is called Self Sabotage.
