Silpada Designs is one of the country’s most inspirational success stories. Silpada, a company built by women, for women, was founded in 1997 by Bonnie Kelly and Teresa Walsh. Both were stay-at-home moms who discovered they could turn their love of jewelry and knack for styling their friends into a successful business. Together they have turned a basement-born business they started with $25 each into a thriving international company with millions of customers.
Silpada Designs is the world’s largest sterling silver jewelry home party company with operations in the United States and Canada. In 2004, retail sales exceeded $50 million. The founders sold to Avon in 2010 for $650 million. Just last month, the original founders bought Silpada back from Avon for a fraction of the price they sold at. And, now a new generation is taking the reins at the company.
This week's guests, Kelsey Perry and Ryane Delka, are the daughters of the company founders and they are now Silpada's new co-presidents. Join us as they talk about their families' recent repurchase of Silpada, what it’s like to grow up “Silpada-ish”—and where the business is headed next.
The NHL trade deadline is fast approaching and several teams have beaten the rush by making deals in the days leading up. Glen and Mike talk about the arms race in the Eastern Conference between Boston and Pittsburgh, discuss the Ryane Clowe addition by the New York Rangers and analyze the league's best blue line, potentially, after St. Louis acquired Jay Bouwmeester from Calgary.
Quest 2 tHA Cup : Game 4 The Sharks vs The Canucks
With Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton dominating all over the ice, Antti Niemi bailing out his teammates on a big second-period penalty kill and all four lines making contributions, the San Jose Sharks looked like a completely different team than the one that opened the Western Conference final with a dud. Marleau scored twice in the first period, Thornton had three assists and Niemi made 27 saves as the Sharks bounced back from a pair of losses in Vancouver to beat the Canucks 4-3 Friday night in Game 3 of the Western Conference final.
“The last two have not been anywhere near par for our group,” coach Todd McLellan said. “So it was nice to see us return to the way we can play.”
Ryane Clowe and Dan Boyle also scored on the power play for the Sharks, who still trail the series 2-1 after winning a conference final game on home ice for the first time in franchise history.
Renowned as chronic underachievers, either theVancouver Canucks or the San Jose Sharks will finally break through the Western Conference and arrive in the Stanley Cup Finals.
If not one pair of scapegoats, the Sedins, then it will be the other,Patrick Marleau andJoe Thornton. If not one heart and soul player, Ryan Kesler, then it will be the other,Ryane Clowe. And if not for one divisive player who has rabid fans but occasionally finds himself the subject of ridicule,Roberto Luongo, then it will be the other, Kyle Wellwood.
At least, we know there’s going to be some creative one-liners. With these two teams, we can count on some third-period choking, lots of skating and one heck of a series.

Join us, this is the second block of the Spectacular.
Yes, with lack of creativity for titles as we're running close to the end of the year, we're not running out of good programming. There's only a couple more nights left of the year 2008, and we're going to bring you into 2009 gracefully.. yet repulsively... yet... beautifully.. yet... I'll stop.
