E. Lynn Harris, introduced millions of readers to the "invisible life" of black gay men. Openly gay, Harris was best known for his depictions of African-American men who were on the down-low and closeted. He authored ten consecutive books that reached The New York Times Best Seller list, making him among the most successful African-American or gay authors of his era. Harris abruptly died in Los Angeles in July 2009, where he was meeting with television and film executives about his books. Since his death, there has been a noticeable void in the African-American publishing world, particularly in the gay fiction genre.
We will be joined by two of Harris’ literary offspring, authors Mondell T. Pope and Bryan T. Clark.
in Self Help
Today, on a live show, we have Clinical Psychologist and author, Dr. E. Douglass Brown continuing his dialogue on Relationships - a Help or a Hindrance part 3. He will talk about the reasons toxic relationships have such a great fanbase as well as healthy relationships. What draws people to drama, emotional abuse and sometimes physical abuse, infidelity, and reminders of their toxic past? What draws people to health and vitality, compassion, empathic connections, peace, contentment-inward and outward, compatibility and true partnership? Why is there such a disconnect between the one mindset and the other? What are some solutions to these distant realities?
