Tonight Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes the amazing Austin TX Soul & Funk Band Roxy Roca to the show!
"Fans of ’60s legends like James Brown and Al Green will have plenty to savor on Roxy Roca’s latest, Ain’t Nothin’ Fancy — a record full of powerhouse soul with a smooth, Southern finish. The lyrics are simple, but it’s the horn section and vocalist Taye Cannon’s impressive vocal chops that steal the show here, with hoarse shrieks, whoops, and hollers to beat the band.
Roxy Roca’s tunes are dynamic, infectious, and, above all, fun, sure to inspire even the most reluctant to step out on the dance floor." ~ Texas Music Magazine

Two years ago, a few friends who knew each other from working on the independent wrestling scene in Illinois decided to get into this fairly new medium of podcasting. Along with some other guys they met on Facebook they decided to create a podcast dedicated to wrestling. They called their new creation Pro Wrestling Roundtable. There have been several changes in terms of name, cohosts and many networks but the show, now called PWR SLAM! is not just still alive but thriving. What started out as a local based show has turned into a global phenomenon with fans all over the world. We have presented not just up and coming stars but veterans and legends. We haven't shied away from controversy either, discussing a wrestler who had to get a regular job because the promotion wasn't paying him to racism and sexism. This week, however, is about celebrating two years of fun with our friends both old and new. We felt that one night with our standard format just didn't fit this party we are going to have so we decided to make it a two night celebration & our guest list is stacked. Airing both Tuesday & Wednesday with both nights starting at 9/8 Central the guest list is a veritable who's who of the wrestling business. Slated to appear with us over the two days will be Joel Deaton, The Stro, Fred Ottman, Kenny Starmaker Bolin, Bill Apter, Roxy Astor, Terry Garvin Simms, & many more. We also have a couple of big surprises for our fans and we might even get surprised ourselves. Sean, Steve, & Katie already know they will have no control of either night but invite you to join them for the mayhem. We are restricting call times this week to allow our guests the chance to interact with us & each other. Questions will always be welcome via our chat room. When we do announce question time you may either reach us on Skype or by phone (347)-826-9418. Join us as we celebrate two years of the best wrestling podcast on the internet PWR SLAM!
We are joined by Roxy, NFLFemale's OFR for the Eagles, and David Malandra, writer for http://Phillysocial.com @PhillySoc, to talk about Chip Kelly and his Eagles. Their slow start and huge win over the NY Jets. Then Floyd from The Ball Street Journal joins Lisa, Dayna, and Michelle to break down the big games of week 3, who we thought stood out, who turned their season around, and which games we are looking forward to in Week 4. Join us!
PWR SLAM! Every Wednesday Night 9 PM EST / 8 PM CST. Crank up your speakers, it's Ladies Night again on PWR SLAM! After an opening spotlight with Jesse Fernandez from Empire Wrestling Federation in California Katie and the ladies will take over and it's going to be good. Opening up will be Amber Rodriguez. Amber is part of the roster of our friends at Pro Wrestling Syndicate and is making a name for herself in the east. Most recently she wrestled former WWE & TNA Women's Champion and now part of the GFW roster, Mickie James. Following Amber will be another up and coming female who is also traveling the US making a name for herself, Terra Callaway. We're going to have her tell stories about her ring travels and her Comicon stories. Finally we reach into the history of 80s TV for our main guest. If you watched wrestling then you at least heard of GLOW, Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling. Based out of the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, GLOW was as popular as WWF was in that time period. Featuring a roster with almost every stereotype you could find GLOW had a worldwide audience. Tonight we speak to the rich redhead, Roxy Astor. We will talk about her background, living and working with the GLOW Girls and how she has taken the resurgent popularity of GLOW and turned it into wonderful fan events. Join your hosts Katie, Steve, & Sean for what promise to be 3 FULL hours of FANTABULOUS FANDEMONIUM. As always we welcome your questions via chat (By Joining BTR FREE of Charge), via Skype, or via phone at (347)-826-9418. Don't forget, next week we will be joined by Bill Apter and Danny Cage who each have big announcements that you don't want to miss. Also mark your calanders now because our first ever Promoters Round Table will be September 30th. Be sure to follow us on our social medias On Facebook http://www.facebook.com/pwroundtable or you can follow us on Twitter @PWRSLAM. ***ALL CALLERS SUBJECT TO SCREENING & TIME RESTRICTIONS***
Totally Driven Radio presents a 4 part interview series with Detroit rockers Madam X?

It's Time to Get High in High School again, with another 80's rock song
This week's guest is the drummer for Madam X & Vixen? !!!
The Bacon Brothers, Kevin and Michael join host Robin Milling backstage at City Winery in New York City to talk about their new album 36 Cents. A blend of folk, rock, soul and country; this band of brothers debuted in 1995 and are still going strong 20 years later.
Their songs have always had a sense of humor, but not always, such as Hookers & Blow which Kevin says has a much darker side. 'With the kind of straight ahead lives that both of us live; being married for a long time we lead pretty normal sort of lives. So when somebody said, 'well how was your weekend my joke is, oh you know it's just the usual, hookers and blow! It's kind of a walk in the shoes of this guy who is messed up.'
Currently on tour, Kevin tells Robin they've played everywhere from The Roxy in Los Angeles to even a pork festival at Fair Oaks Farms in Indiana. Michael says, 'I think we have a really hardcore group of fans that really appreciate the band's music.' The show featured a young musician from WHEELS (Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School) who jammed with The Bacon Brothers on stage using a donated guitar from WQXR's instrument drive. Kevin says, 'Alot of the schools and kids throughout the five boroughs in the New York City school system don't have access to instruments. And they don't get lessons. Music as you know is a really peaceful, healing, brain-making pleasure. We're trying to raise money now on six degrees.org to refurbish some of these instruments that they have.'

Meet MATT PAISLEY as we engage on a journey to help Roxy the Rancor!
Roxy the Rancor, the world's only life-size Rancor prop, has some BIG travel plans in 2015 and she needs your help to make them a reality for Star Wars fans everywhere! Maybe you've seen the 17-foot-long, 700-pound Roxy at Star Wars Celebration VI, Disney's Star Wars Weekends, MegaCon, or any number of conventions up and down America's East Coast. This lovable monster from a galaxy far, far away has brought awe and smiles to tens of thousands of fans, and provided unforgettable photo opportunities. Roxy has also helped raise thousands of dollars for charities through her appearances! While Roxy enjoys meeting (and maybe eating?) fans face-to-face, all of that time on the road takes its toll on her body and sometimes the big girl comes home battered and in need of repair.
To continue making appearances both near and far, Roxy will require custom shipping containers that are more suited to long-distance travel and ease of packing. This not only means Roxy will be able to safely visit new places more efficiently, but also provides an opportunity to create an entirely new portable environment for Roxy---her own massive cave set!
We have already begun construction on the new cave set and put a considerable amount of time and personal funding into this project, but we want to escalate things to make sure Roxy's new home is ready for a few big appearances next year---that's where your help is needed! To show our appreciation, we're offering rewards that Roxy fans should find very exciting---everything from new collectibles to a "Rancor Master" reward VIP package to attend the premier of Roxy's new cave in Jacksonville, Florida! Please note that we do not profit from Roxy's appearances---all funds go back into maintenance and providing smiles for fans!
The program all about TV, simulcast live on BlogTalk Radio and Brooklyn Independent Media HD. Our guests: Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills subject Roxy Sowalty and creator/executive producer Doron Ofir, and National Public Radio TV critic/George Foster Peabody Awards board member Eric Deggans. The Peabody Awards will be given out May 31 in New York, and televised next month on Pivot.
