Charming Liars are a British/American rock band, based in Los Angeles, California. Originally founded by lead vocalist, Charlie Cosser, guitarist, Karnig Manoukian, and bassist, Mike Kruger, in London, England. For the Londoners that are now the nucleus of Charming Liars, the move from London to Los Angeles has paid dividends in ways even the most prescient or optimistic person could have imagined. The band landed a recording contract, earned a chance to work alongside two of the most influential producers of the past quarter century – John Fields and Canada’s Bob Rock, and more recently, a slot on the Fourth-Annual Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival tour, playing alongside some of the biggest alternative rock acts on the planet. In October 2013, Charming Liars released a four- song EP called New Disorder (available now on iTunes), which is a powerful and compelling teaser for the debut Charming Liars full-length album. On an initial 5 day trip to LA, the band played showcase gigs at The Viper Room, The Roxy, The Troubadour and the Whiskey A Go Go, carving a reputation as a band on the ascent in the highly competitive LA music scene. Producer John Fields, whose credentials include work with The Goo Goo Dolls, The Rembrandts and former Barenaked Ladies frontman Stephen Page saw this raw potential and was the first LA music gurus to encourage the band to at least try their hand at setting up shop in southern California. Bob Rock’s name initially came up in a casual conversation but the band decided to approach the legendary Canadian producer knowing that the worst he could say was no. Rock said yes and eventually produced the majority of the songs on the Charming Liars forthcoming album. Charming Liars recently released their second E.P entitled ‘We Won’t Give Up’ featuring the first single impacting radio titled “The Desperation.” For more information, visit www.charmingliars.com
So much has been said and written about the Beatles -- and their story is so mythic in its sweep -- that it's difficult to summarize their career without restating clichés that have already been digested by tens of millions of rock fans. To start with the obvious, they were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era, and introduced more innovations into popular music than any other rock band of the 20th century. Moreover, they were among the few artists of any discipline that were simultaneously the best at what they did and the most popular at what they did. Lets explore more aout The Beatles and there mark on the Music never tp be erased.
Punk/Rock band “Just In Case”, will be our special guest on this Tuesday at 7 p.m. PT/10 ET on A.K.A. Music, Art and Music Show on Blogtalk Radio.
Originating in southern NJ in spring of 2000, Just In Case has always been about producing great music. Coming from an era of so much great punk rock, they have been influenced by a lot of amazing bands. The band has a complex blend of pop-punk, skate-punk, touch of grunge, and a strong undertone of hip-hop on the back end. They enjoy combining all of their favorite styles throughout their songs, adding their own twist to their first love, punk-rock.
With over a decade of steady live shows/tours, and numerous albums, Just In Case is now taking on the West Coast with a brand new EP entitled "Better Late Than Never.”
We will be playing a couple of the band's songs just for our audience, so tune in tomorrow at www.blogtalkradio.com/akamac, or call the show and talk to the band at 805-285-9737. We will be taking questions in our chatroom as well.

BOBAFLEX is known as one of the hardest working bands in the country. Renowned for their high energy, live shows and relentless touring the band was formed in 1998 by brothers Shaun and Marty McCoy. The brothers are known for their ancestral ties to the most infamous family feud in American history between the Hatfield and McCoy. The interest of the feud has spurred of late a mini-series, many documentaries and an upcoming modern day version series debuting this Fall. BOBAFLEX released their 6th album CHARLATAN’S WEB on BFX RECORDS on September 10th. The long anticipated follow up to 2011’s HELL IN MY HEART that featured the singles BURY ME WITH MY GUNS ON, CHEMICAL VALLEY and THE SOUND OF SILENCE. The first single off the album BAD MAN peaked at #32 on the charts and their new single I'M GLAD YOU'RE DEAD is off to a better start. The band consisting of brothers, Shaun (vocals, guitars) and Marty McCoy (vocals, guitars), Jerod Mankin (vocals, bass), Tommy Johnson (drums) and newly added David Tipple (guitars) will be bringing their tour from coast-to-coast in support of the new album and single, BAD MAN hitting the airwaves in July. Their catalog is rounded out by PRIMITIVE EPIC (2003) on Eclipse Records; APOLOGIZE FOR NOTHING (2005) and TALES FROM DIRT TOWN (2007) on TvT Records and CHEMICAL VALLEY (2010) which they self-released. The band is not dreading on the past anymore as they embattled a troubled label, legal battles and just looking ahead to the future. For more information, visit www.theofficialbobaflex.com
DIVE is a straightforward band of aggressive and melodic rock that compares to the sounds of Three Days Grace, Hoobastank and Linkin Park. The album was released through Sony RED on 5/11/2010 and is available on iTunes, Amazon.com and in stores at FYE, Hot Topic and Barnes and Noble. Some of the finest rock bands of all time have featured brothers as their leaders (AC/DC, Van Halen, etc.), and the Raskins are the next in line. Comprised of twins Roger and Logan Raskin, the union originally began as a mere writing project for producer Greg Ladany. But after several demos were cut and the brothers realized they were on to something, it became a permanent proposition, and the Raskins were born - which has resulted in the forthcoming release of their self-titled debut, which drops May 13, 2014. Specializing in a self-described "rock/retro/alternative/pop-rock/singer-songwriter" style, the Raskins cover an impressive amount of ground stylistically, as evidenced by such rocking standout tracks as the album's leadoff single, "We Had It All" (which will be serviced to radio starting February 18), "Need Another Hero," and "The Radio Song," while the duo show off their pop side on "Open Our Eyes," "Reach," and "Where Do We Go From Here." Once the album is released, the brothers' plan is a simple yet proven one, according to Roger. "Clearly the future plans for the Raskins is to tour as much as possible, and bring our music to every city in the US, as well as all the local radio stations, doing promotional giveaways, rock shows, and to touch as many fans as possible. We want to show the public that we our very accessible. Also eventually heading over to Europe to give our expanded fan base the opportunity to experience the Raskins live. The Europeans love them some rock n roll. Can't wait to share our music with all of them!" For more information, visit www.theraskins.com

Australia and Rock n' Roll has gone hand in hand for decades by this point - AC/DC, Jet, and Wolfmother have all hailed from the land down under. And the continent has another hard rockin' contender on their hands, Ragdoll. Comprised of members Ryan Rafferty (lead vocals, bass), Leon Todd (guitar), and Cam Barrett (drums), the trio has a new album, 'Ragdoll Rewound' and an upcoming Rocklahoma performance. 'Ragdoll Rewound' is a compilation of Ragdoll's first two releases ('Ragdoll Rock' and 'Here Today') plus four live recordings, one of which is a new composition, "Rewind Your Mind." The trio revisited the first EP and had it remixed and polished the way they had always wanted to hear it. Songs like "Foot to the Floor" sound leaner and meaner while "The Feeling" is even more epic! Any issues the band may have had with the original 'Here Today' master have been fully rectified here too; while the new master of "Tell Me" in particular is a lot more dynamic and more true to the original mix. With an intense desire to inject new life into the music they love; Ragdoll's mission is to dismantle the sometimes tired genres of classic rock, hard rock and progressive rock and rebuild them, producing a modern hybrid that both transcends and revitalizes the traditional rock genres. The result is a sound that's bombastic and intricate, a sound that's full and brash, leaving many to question how this trio is capable of producing a live sound more akin to that of a five-piece. And it sounds like Ragdoll will be quite busy for the remainder of 2014. They're doing twenty shows, starting in California, then the Midwest and culminating in Vegas. Then they will return home to Australia to enter the studio to record the material they've prepared for their fourth all original studio release." For more information, visit www.ragdollrock.com
