Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 32

    in Soccer

This week's episode of the Lion of Vienna Podcast maybe a bit shorter, but it's still just as packed with Bolton Wanderers chat as Chris is joined, once again, by Rob and the returning DownTheMannyRd Tom.

The pod gets underway with a discussion on yet another defeat, as the Whites fell to a 2-0 loss against Burnley.

Then came a preview of Tuesday night's game against Birmingham City, with a brief chat about the Leeds United match next Saturday.

With manager Neil Lennon now being at the club a year, the lads celebrated his first anniversary by assesing how he's done so far and what the futrue holds.

Finally, there was a brief round up of news as it seems Zach Clough is set to sign a new long-term contract and the search for that elusive striker continues. All before the show is seen out with a game of guess who.

    Taming The Roaring Lion

    in Entertainment

What is that noise? If you listen closely, you can hear the roar. It sounds like a lion but what is it?
Siegfried & Roy managed a few lions in their act. Zoos cherish the Lion as the most popular animal of all of their exhibits. And in Christendom, we are often told to be vigilant because our adversary the devil walks about like a LION seeking to devour you.
    ZOIKS!

Join Jim and Angellah as we find out if there is a lion-like demon prowling around just waiting to eat you. Is this a metaphor for Satan who is said to always be on the hunt for good believers to snare them in his ferocious jaws?
Or maybe, we can find this lion to be toothless in the truest sense of the term.

Do you want to know how to tame a lion? Then get your whip crackin’, because in a few minutes you are going to become the next great Lion Tamer. Once we find out what this Lion is, the powerful jaws are clamped shut for good.

See You Friday at 1PM CST
Don’t forget to set a reminder for this show and email your sister-in-law to help her find out what all that noisy roaring is about.

Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 31

    in Soccer

Despite a very boring international break, the lads still power through to bring you over an hour of Bolton Wanderers chat. This week Chris is joined by tech wiz Rob and a duo of Liams, LOVpod regular Liam O'Meara and debutant Liam Hatton, founder of fellow Wanderers site Trotters Blog.

Despite some initial recording difficulties - we'll blame the software, rather than the supposed tech wiz - the boys preview Saturday's fixture at Burnley, then take a look back at the latest striker transfer updates as the search for a new one continues. Neil Lennon's comments following the QPR match, which have landed him in hot water with The FA, were also on the agenda.

With a lack of anything else to discuss, a special feature was introduced this week, as the cast run through their all-time Bolton XI, before rounding off events with a game of Guess Who and this week's Twitter question.

Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 29

    in Soccer

In Episode 29 of the #LOVpod, Chris is joined by latest debutant Matt, for the second week in a row Liam and stand in tech wiz Rob, for another fine episode of the best Bolton Wanderers podcast around.

In this week's show they discussed the Whites' dramatic 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion in great depth, including Gary Madine, Max Clayton, David Wheater, Francesco Pisano and Neil Danns.

Next up the lads looked forward to Saturday's trip to Loftus Road to face Queens Park Rangers, which touches on a planned national protest against the price of away tickets.

In the third section the boys take a closer look at the ongoing striker saga at Wanderers, with the likes of Yann Kermogant and Igor Vetokele continuing to be linked to the Macron Stadium.

All that before rounding proceedings off with a double dose of Guess Who and examining your views in this week's Twitter Question.

Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 30

    in Soccer

On LOVpod Episode 30, Chris is joined by tech wiz Rob and the man behind Talk Trotters, Alastair, who comes in for his second appearance on the show. This weeks pod is very Southern centric, which means we actually had real life witnesses to Saturday's defeat.

The boys drill down into Bolton Wanderers' 4-3 defeat at Queens Park Rangers, directing Neil Lennon's team selection as Darren Pratley and Dorian Dervite both returned to injury. Francesco Pisano's half time departure, Ben Amos' dip in form and the pair of Gary Madine and Liam Feeney actually, against all the odds, finding some form in front of goal. Oh, and the fact we lost to a last minute goal.

That's all before discussing the Whites rumoured transfer targets, including Adam Hamill, Michael Tonge and Shola Ameobi, another possible takeover bid and the state of ticket prices in the English game, as Rob describes his experience as he tried to support the Twenty's Plenty campaign ran by the FSF.

Proceedings are brought to a close with a game of Guess Who and a discussion on possible changes ahead of next week's visit to Burnley.

Spiritual warfare - the lion is roaring!

    in Christianity

The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:8:

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

The apostle Peter warns believers to be sober, awake, and watchful, because they are in a spirirual warfare where their enemy is always looking to strike and devour them if they are vulnerable.

How can we protect ourselves from the wiles of the enemy?

What did Adam and Eve, the first man and woman teach us about being vulnerable?

    in Soccer

Dan takes a brief break from his freshers week to bring you episode 28 of the #LOVpod. The best Bolton Wanderers podcast.

Here's stand in tech wizard rob to tell you what went down:

In Episode 28 of the LOVpod Chris is joined by Liam and Rob as tech-wiz, as Dan moves into the big world to start University.

The boys chat over the midweek draw with Sheffield Wednesday, followed by discussing the fallout from the 4-1 debacle at Huddersfield Town.

They also have their say on Wanderers' looming striker crisis, due to the injuries to both Zach Clough and Emile Heskey, which leaves Gary Madine as our only fit natural, first team striker.

Our historically dire away form and what Neil Lennon can possibly do to turn things around were both also discussed in great detail. That's all followed by a new record breaking game of Guess Who!
