In the early morning hours of September 3, 2006, professional truck driver Randy Tomblin pulled his rig over on the side of I-64 near Huntington, West Virginia. Randy was responding to a lady waving on the side of the interstate, apparently with a flat tire. The time was about 3:00 A.M.
Having always been a good samaritan, Tomblin thought to himself that there was no way he was going to let a women change a tire alone and in the dark. As he walked pass the auto, a male suddenly appeared, hitting Tomblin over the head with what police believed to be a .380-caliber handgun.
Tomblin would be robbed of $200 and as he attempted to rise to his feet, the man fired one bullet that lodged between his lower back and pelvis and which still remains there today. The shooting would cause Randy to spend four months in a wheelchair and unable to work for eleven months.
As a professional driver for 39 years, Randy Tomblin joins us as our special guest to share his story and to discuss his views on Mike's Law - a proposed Bill to Congress by the Small Business in Transportation Coalition which if signed into law, would allow U.S. citizens engaged in interstate commerce to carry a concealed weapon throughout all states, thus not being held to the current reciprocity laws.
The legislative draft entitled Sec. 9999 “Americans Working in Interstate Commerce Protection Act of 2014” is named for trucker, Mike Boeglin who was fatally shot in June of this year in Detroit, Michigan. As of the time of this writing, the petition has received 8,388 signatures.
Join us with our special guest, Randy Tomblin as he shares his story, the thoughts on why Congress should pass Mike's Law and the ongoing problems still faced today from that one moment in time back in 2006.
Trail Running is on the rise; one of the most epic challenges for an Ultra Trail Runner is traversing the Grand Canyon. Listen as Vanessa Runs shares her journey from rim-to-rim-to-rim, running through one of the 7 great Natural Wonders of the World.
How long will it take? Well, first of all, it’s not a race. It would be crazy to do this run and not take some time to enjoy the incredible scenery. A mid-pack runner should plan on at least 13-15 hours.
It is a tough run, with a little bit of everything as obstacles: some rocky sections of trail, some exposure, two BIG hills, heat, cold, altitude (7000 feet at the south rim, 2600 feet at the bottom, 8000 feet at the north rim).
You will definitely feel like you’ve accomplished something when you finish. And you will see the Grand Canyon as few have ever seen it!
We have covered the information for making the shot a few times on the show, but I like to do it at least once a year as a introduction to new folks and as a refresher for the folks who have heard it or been to a fundamentals course.
Tonight we are going to cover safety rules, why you need a sling, the different steps required to make the shot, zeroing your rifle and as much more as we can get to.
We will also have an after action for the Pecos Run and Gun in The Sun, and reminders about our upcoming BattleRoad courses. The call in number for tonight's show is 247-308-8790
Hope to see you there!

In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will preview the Green Bay Packers (10-4) vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-12). On paper, the Packers should roll in this game, right? Well, this is the NFL, which means that you have to go out an execute every Sunday. The Buccaneers are tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, and the Tennessee Titans for the worst record, in the NFL. Should the Buccaneers pull off the upset, they will not be in the running for the overall number one pick, in the 2015 Draft. Don't think that the players are going to lay down and take a beating. The Buccaneers will take the field and try to slow down the Packers offense. Offensively, the Buccaneers have an up and coming rookie receiver, Mike Evans. They might be able to find some success against the Packers defense.
The Green Bay Packers need to win, to set up the showdown at Lambeau Field, with the Detroit Lions. However, before looking to week 17, and a Division title showdown, they need to take care of business. The Packers can not expect to fly to Tampa Bay and leave with a win, without executing and fixing some issues. What are the keys to the Packers offense this week? Do you think that they need to get back to a balanced attack? They will have a chance against a Buccaneers defense that ranks 25th, in both, points and yards allowed. There should be opportunities but the Packers need to execute. Listen in or call the show.
Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen, was shot and killed by police in Ferguson, Missouri.
FBI Warns Ferguson Decision ‘Will Likely’ Lead to Violence By Extremists Protesters.
As the nation waits to hear whether a Missouri police officer will face charges for killing unarmed teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., the FBI is warning law enforcement agencies across the country that the decision “will likely” lead some extremist protesters to threaten and even attack police officers or federal agents.
What's Happened in Ferguson, Missouri, Since Michael Brown's Death: A Timeline
Peaceful protesters could be caught in the middle, and electrical facilities or water treatment plants could also become targets. In addition, so-called “hacktivists” like the group “Anonymous” could try to launch cyber-attacks against authorities.
“The announcement of the grand jury’s decision … will likely be exploited by some individuals to justify threats and attacks against law enforcement and critical infrastructure,” the FBI says in an intelligence bulletin issued in recent days. “This also poses a threat to those civilians engaged in lawful or otherwise constitutionally protected activities.”
I am getting really angry about these kinds of stories. i don't know how the kid behaved but he was a kid. Cops can't be gun happy. It's really sad and tragic. I have a 1/2 Black child who is six ft 2. He does not play with guns or have fake guns., he is just a student who works at McDonalds at age 16. I am pissed off in general that this shit happens in America. The kid might as well have lived in Jerusalem or Beruit. His life is worth nothing to law enforcement. Whether somebody is to blame and the kid was reckless or not, its still a major disappointment. I don't foresee the future of America getting any better.
Jon shares 1 police pullover story in which he may have been falsely accused. He also talks about overcoming temptation.
The last short segment is about a writer named Ed Raymond for the Duluth Reader who keeps dissing religion. He will do anything to make religion look bad. He also came up with some loosely based homosexual theory and tries to plug his theoryt into historical groups such at the 12 disciples. Jon, Jane and Bob blow this man's weak arguments straight out of the water.
