Up until just a generation ago, rifle marksmanship programs were familiar features on school campuses in America. Millions of Americans learned to shoot at school programs taught in school basements, in school gyms and at ranges the schools took school children to as part of their school's marksmanship programs.
Then it started disappearing in the 60s, even more in the 70s. By the 80s it had almost vanished. Very few schools remain that have active rifle marksmanship programs. But, that is starting to change. And we can help change it.
When I was a kid, everyone I knew had firearms and did at least some type of shooting. Hunting, skeet, target practice and just plinking on evenings and weekends. Even all of the girls I knew growing up knew how to shoot. Now, I live rurally, and of the kids living out rurally today, very few have had any kind of experience, introduction or instruction in firearms and shooting. I imagine the kids in cities have had even less.
This poses a very real problem for the future of our 2nd Amendment rights. When these millions of kids, who have never had any involvement in the shooting sports industry become of voting age, they will have no dog in this hunt. To them, having the right to posses or use a firearm means nothing. They have never owned a firearm, never experienced shooting, so what would they miss? Getting rifle marksmanship into the Schools should be a priority for Americans who are concerned about the direction the erosion of our 2A rights has been taking. We should be pushing for a very up front and aggressive educational program for rifle marksmanship in our schools.
Jim and Kim Heath, two of the Appleseed Project volunteers have been doing just that and they will be on the show tonight to tell us how to go about getting rifle marksmanship programs into our schools.

On Thursday February 4th, 2016 The Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon
will present a discussion on the fascinating military and occult career
of Lt.Colonel Sir Francis Edward Younghusband (1863-1942) the conqueror
of Tibet (1904) and the author of several books on travel, adventure and
mystical philosophy. Colonel Younghusband was an officer in British
Special forces in India during a cold war between the British and the
Russians for control of the Central Asian highlands north of India in
the latter days of the 19th century. Their covert conflict was called
"The Great Game" and was the stage for high adventure. Rudyard Kipling
novelized "The Great Game" in Kim. In 1904 Lord Curson the Viceroy of
India sent Colonel Younghusband up into Tibet with an invading British
army to flush out the Russians whom Curson was convinced had infiltrated
the mysterious country. After slaughtering the primitive Tibetan army,
Younghusband took Lhasa but could not find a single Cossack, or even a
Russian rifle, However he did stay long enough to have a mystical
experience that transformed him from a ruthless conqueror into a
peaceful mystical philosopher. He retired to England to write books
about his adventures and his visions, which included life on other
planets, a philosophy of free love, a spiritual drama society and an
expedition to climb Mt. Everest. -- If you want to spend an hour with
the Colonel, tune in and we'll hit the trail going up.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles." -Col. Jeff Cooper, Firearms Pioneer “To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.” -Richard Henry Lee, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and crafter of the Second Amendment "The unarmed man is not just defenseless -- he is also contemptible." -Machiavelli Minute-of-Angle, Point of Aim/Point of Impact, Natural Point of Aim, Cheek Weld, Trigger Control, Off-Hand, Kneeling, Prone...

I just wanted to touch on some newsworthy stories. The Oregon militia is still with their stand-off. I feel like they are the worst kind of freeloaders and should be removed. Tarpman looked so stupid sitting on national TV with a rifle across him ready to die because he thinks he has a right to do what he is doing. Sarah "you betcha" Palin has endorsed Trump. So she has resurfaced. Why won't she just stay quiet? Why does her endorsement mean so much? I am so sick of all of this it has seemed like the longest election year ever. I do not know what is happening to MSNBC but it almost like watching Faux news. Even on MHP show their is always some republican strategist on the panel that has no interest in whatever issue there is. The water crisis in Flint is awful and someone needs to be in jail and held accountable. One Presidential hopeful said that he couldn't speak on because he had not been briefed. How out of touch could you be? The debacle with DPS has been a long time coming but it shouldn't even be in this state. I had to make a decision 15 years ago and here we are having the same conversation. I know Dr. Steve Perry's stomach is probably turning. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's holiday was observed on this past Monday and all I can say is that he would not be happy right about now. I will announce any upcoming events as we prepare for the weekend.
I want to finish up last week's discussion on starting fires and purchasing and storing bulk dry foods and medicines.
I also want to go over the lessons learned from the last 11 days of the Precision Rifle and Stalking and Camouflage courses. We had a great week and half here at BattleRoadUSA and I want to share some of the information I learned with you.

Cosby said. “We are not a pitiful race of people. We are a bright race, who can move with the best. But we are in a new time, where people are behaving in abnormal ways and calling it normal … When they used to come into our neighborhoods, we put the kids in the basement, grabbed a rifle, and said, ‘By any means necessary.’' If this is true then why are we more upset that David Bowie past than Natalie Cole or Dr. Frances Welsing? Why are we so concerned about them capturing El Chapo? Why are we supporting Beyonce's project to produce and star in the Sara Baartman story? Are we wrong for not caring about to much any longer and do we have a right to be pissed at our people for caring about this so called non-sense? Tune in and vibe with us.
