    INTERVIEW GUEST:

    Hayley Rose - Hayley Rose worked in entertainment business management for over 15 years, specializing in concert touring. THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:

    Today, we live in a culture obsessed with measuring talent and ability. But, sometimes we overlook the important role of inspiration. Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative. Inspiration awakens us to new possibilities by allowing us to transcend our ordinary experiences and limitations. Inspiration can propel any of us, including children, from apathy to possibility. Inspiration can transform the way we perceive our own capabilities and our own strengths. Inspiration may sometimes be overlooked because of its elusive nature. But, as recent research shows, inspiration can be activated, captured, and manipulated, and it has a major effect on important life outcomes. How can you best inspire others? How can you benefit from the process? Why does inspiration matter?

    Religion behind Prison Walls: How Does it Work and Does it Really Matter?

    in Religion

    November 20, 2014 - LIVING A RICHER LIFE ~ Life Changing Talk Radio

    THEME: A Candid Discussion about Religion behind Prison Walls: How does it Work and why does it Matter

    Bruce Smith - Retired Car Salesman, Founder of the Christian Car Buying Ministry and a 15-year Member of a Volunteer Outreach Team.

    THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:

    According to the Prison Fellowship Ministries, which describes itself as a family of Christian ministries dedicated to bringing peace to a broken world through works of grace, acts of justice, and words of truth…here are the numbers:

    The United States has less than 5% of the world population, but almost 25% of the world’s prisoners;
    Today, approximately 2.3 million inmates are behind bars;
    95% of all prisoners are eventually release;
    2 out of 3 will reoffend.

    Prison Ministry is a larger concept, including the support of the spiritual and religious needs of prison guards and staff, whose work in an often demanding and brutal environment often creates a special need for pastoral care, similar to the care that is extended to the military, police officers and fire fighters. What is religion behind prison walls all about…how does it work…and why does it matter?

    Ann Anovitz – Ann is a long-time Commercial Real Estate executive, an avid community volunteer, a skillful writer and the author of "Charlie's Tale: The Great Questions of Life and Death”, a short novel which illuminates one view of  life's purpose. The planned, eight-book series emphasizes important life skills and targets the enhancement of the reading experience of both English and Spanish speaking children.

    THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:

    Not everyone is plagued by questions of life’s meaning. But, philosophers and clergy are not the only ones interested in questions about life, death and everything in between. Psychological studies tell us that happiness declines in our 20s and returns around age 50. That’s a long period of personal struggle for each of us, and today’s self-help industry has exploded over the last decade in an attempt to address our problems. The reality is that an unexpected illness, a sudden early death of a loved one and even the loss of property or a job can create a "personal" and “spiritual” crisis in our lives. Such a crisis can often compel us to ponder the larger questions of our life's purpose and fulfillment. The search for a basis which can fulfill both your spiritual and aspirational quests in life is a very personal one… and can be very difficult. Sometimes it helps to seek other's views and talk to others about these great questions of life and death.

    Leveraging Intersectionality or LI – What is it and why is it important?

    in Books

    October 23, 2014 - LIVING A RICHER LIFE ~ Life Changing Talk Radio

    THEME: Leveraging Intersectionality or LI – What is it and why is it important?

    INTERVIEW GUEST:

    Dr. Fay Cobb Payton – Professor, Researcher, Diversity, Inclusion & Technology Advocate and the author of “Leveraging Intersectionality: Seeing and Not Seeing”

    THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:

    Intersectionality is a term that was coined by American professor Kimberlé Crenshaw in 1989. Intersectionality is most commonly defined as the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage. This scholarly and progressive view of "valuing diversity" originally encompassed "women" and their experience of oppression in varying configurations and in varying degrees of intensity. Yet, the prospective has been extended into include all people who have experienced cultural patterns of oppression. The theory is that cultural patterns of oppression are not only interrelated, but are bound together and influenced by the intersectional systems of society. Examples of this include race, gender, class, ability, and ethnicity. According to one leading expert, "through an awareness and the leveraging of intersectionality, we can better acknowledge and ground the differences among us, gain the benefits of inclusion within both academic and corporation environments and enhance the global society as a whole." What is the Intersectionality and why is it important?

    Intimate Reflections on America’s Most Interesting Thoughts and Suspicions

    in Books

    October 16, 2014 - LIVING A RICHER LIFE ~ Life Changing Talk Radio

    THEME: Intimate Reflections on America’s Most Interesting Thoughts and Suspicions

    INTERVIEW GUESTS:

    Couples from across the United States join the show’s hosts Earl Cobb and Dr. Charlotte Grant-Cobb to read and discuss their favorite dialogue from the new book, Pillow Talk Consciousness: Intimate Reflections on America’s Most Interesting Thoughts and Suspicions.

    THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:

    Pillow Talk Consciousness is a unique essay on America, its social & political challenges and the power of human consciousness. The book cleverly illustrates how our birthplace and the level of consciousness we obtain during our lives, eventually frame how we see ourselves, how we see others and how we see our world. It does this through a thoughtful collection of 100 entertaining, informative and provocative dialogues. Each dialogue is written to reflect commonly held thoughts and suspicions on topics that frame the lives and the conversations of average Americans in the 21st century. All are written with a candor that is expressed by the majority of Americans only in the safety and privacy of their own home, with a trusted partner and wrapped in a momentarily abnormal level of human consciousness. The topics range from education to family values; from war to politics and from music to motherhood. Join three couples from across the U.S. as they read and discuss their favorite dialogues and share your own thoughts during the “live” broadcast
