Last week we basically broke the internet with our editorial on the over production of reticulated pythons in the United States. Many keepers took instant offense to our episode without even actually listening to it.
Tonight, listen in as Kevin McCurly the "Evil Morph God" of New England Reptile chimes in with his retort on some of the things we mentioned in our last braodcast. Kevin is a pioneer when it comes to Reticulated Pythons and takes special offense to anyone trying to give them a bad name. More importantly, he's an intellegent person capable of a debate on something he's passionate about. Tune in to this special episode to gain a bit more insight on what we said, and the reasons we said it....

In this episode Ben Morrill from Australian Addiction Reptiles joins us to talk about python genetics. There has recently been discussion on FB about the mode of inheritance for the tiger striped trait in coastal carpet pythons. With Ben's background in genetics we thought we would give him the opportunity to share his thoughts with us on genetics in pythons, in particular the tiger gene in coastal carpets.
Also, in the Reptile Insider segment we are joined by Chad Brown to discuss the pros and cons of just selling reptiles online.
Last week's episode left some of our listeners craving more of this interesting topic, and Winston and CK both had more in their respective tanks as well, so the only logical conclusion was to bring Mr. Smith back for more scaleless talk !
If you didn't catch the first episode, please do so before listening to this one to maximize your enjoyment. Winston brings the eye of an evolutionary biologist to the table with respect to what the Scaleless Head Ball Pythons have going on inside them.
~Update: I'm sorry to say that Jim Gaspar passed away on 08/07/2009 our condolences and prayers go out to Jim's family. He will be greatly missed.~
Another great guest for this segment as we talk with Jim Gaspar of Gaspar Reptiles about the almight reticulated python. Jim has keeping and breeding reptiles for several decades and has a wealth of when it comes to retics.
WHAT IS PROPHET AND WHAT IS A DREAMER?
Python is a widely used general-purpose, high level programming language. Its design philosophy emphasizes code readability, and its syntax allows programmers to express concepts in fewer lines of code than would be possible in programmable languages. The language provides constructs intended to enable clear programs on both a small and large scale.
Peitho is a Greek word that means to persuade, to induce one by words to believe, to make friends, to win one's favor, to gain one's good will, to seek to win one, to strive to please one, to tranquillise.
What happens when you dream?
It all starts with the brain stem, which flips you into sleep mode and—once you hit the rapid eye movement (REM) stage—shuts off muscle movement. Everything but your eyes is temporarily paralyzed.
Parts of your frontal cortex goes offline. Without logic, reasoning, or judgment, the normal rules of space and time don't apply.
Dreams do engage the brain's hippocampus, its cradle of memories, and the amygdala, a key player in emotion.

The Chondro Legend series continues in July as Bill Stegall and Buddy Buscemi welcome Greg Maxwell to GTPKeeper Radio. Greg Maxwell's books "The Complete Chondro" and "The More Complete Chondro" ; his website Fine Green Tree Pythons, and his forum board, The Chondro Forums, enlightened and encouraged an entirely new generation of would be chondro keepers, gave a voice to veteran chondro breeders and a place for chondro geeks to call home as we chatted and swapped photos of these spectacular creatures. We will be talking to Greg about all aspects of chondro history, the Calico lIne of chondros, husbandry, cage building and if there are any plans for "The More Complete Chondro II".
In this episode we are joined by Kara from the Blood cell. We will be talking all about the short tail python complex and the work that they have done with selective breeding. Here at Reptile Radio we feel really connected with the listeners of our show. Regular fans of our program know that we've been plugging the Bush League Breeders Club annual Spring Scavenger Hunt for years now. As happenstance would have it, this year's Hunt winner is also a huge fan of "The Double R". This is the first year that the BLBC Contest Committee offered an appearance on the show as the crowned jewel of the grand prize package, so having this year's Hunt winner P.J. Kohn on the show is really sweet for everyone involved. CK hosts this episode with the herpin' zookeeper from the great state of Michigan, P.J. Kohn. We'll be talking more than just snakes on this one folks, so tune in and enjoy!
