Basking in another result at Anfield

    in Soccer

We've got plenty of discussion of the win at Anfield because how could we do otherwise? We also talk a lot about Villa's back line, the area of the team that have been absolutely key in this blistering start to the season.

And of course we preview the visit from Arsenal this weekend. Can Villa keep the momentum going against a tired and injured team? We certainly hope so!

You'll also find out that we record the day before we release these, so you'll hear a mention or two of wanting Paul Lambert to get a new contract. I'm going to claim that we made that happen. You're welcome.

As always, you can subscribe to us on iTunes, Stitcher, BlogTalk Radio, YouTube, or practically anywhere else you might normally find a podcast. Enjoy, and up the Villa!

Politics Done Right - Will Midterm election result hurt the middle class

    in Politics

    This week’??s show
Will the results of 2014 Midterm election hurt the middle class?
    November 8th, 2014

It was painful to see. It was not a balanced election. It was a slaughter. Democrats were beating convincingly by an electorate that looked nothing like America. Why did Americans stay home? Usually those that are more angry come out. About 33% came out. Sadly that means we that absent presidential vetoes there will be policies anathema to most Americans. Did the working poor and middle class hurt themselves by staying home?

What are your thoughts? Let’s  talk. I will also be following our hash-tag #PoliticsDoneRight on Twitter.

How to Give Meaningful "Non-Stuff" Gifts for Any Celebration

    in Self Help

Celebrations: Parties, presents, decorations. It doesn't matter whether it's Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa or birthdays or Mother's/Father's Day or wedding/baby showers or any other time when you exchange gifts, there is often stuff involved.

The problem with giving stuff is that sometimes it's not something the person needs or wants. Often, even if they do want it, they struggle to find a place for it.

In this episode, Master Organizer, Janice Russell, shares some ideas for giving meaningful gifts that don't result in the clutter of stuff.

Live From Rocks & Things...Metaphysical: Dogs, Heroes and the Solstice

    in Spirituality

Join me for a rambling half hour of live Radio from Rocks & Things. Unless the Universe has other plans I am going to talk about Dogs, thearchetypal hero and what is happening as I understand it for the Solstice.

However, that can change if someone with an interesting story to tell wanders into the store. We will just go with the flow of the Universe.

If we do get to talk about what I have planned we are going to look at the archetypal Heroes Journey, the archetypes that support that journey and the Ultimate Result of the Heroes Journey.
If time allows I would also like to talk  the Solstice from a couple of different perspectives:

    Toaist 5-Element

    Solar

    AStrological

Join me live if I can figure out the computer thing or come on into the store for a holiday hootinanny.

    Who Are Peer Providers?

A peer provider (e.g., certified peer specialist, peer support specialist, recovery coach) is a person who uses his or her lived experience of recovery from mental illness and/or addiction, plus skills learned in formal training, to deliver services in behavioral health settings to promote mind-body recovery and resiliency.

In integrated health, an emerging key role for peer providers are interventions that result in the activation of whole health self-management by those in recovery from behavioral health and chronic health conditions (Druss et al. 2010; Brekke et al. 2012). Growing national recognition of this critical role of self-management to promote resiliency and whole health resulted in creating a federally-funded peer-delivered training called Whole Health Action Management (WHAM) developed by the SAMHSA-HRSA Center for Integrated Health Solutions operated by the National Council for Behavioral Health.

Indie Books Show #66 (Mary Barr)

    in Books

Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.
Author Mary Barr joins me this week to talk about her books.  We'll discuss her novellas, novels & juvenile fiction titles.
    From her novella The Publisher:
Each day with trust and good faith we send our beloved children off to school. We assume they arrive safely, enjoy time with their friends and learn their lessons. We think we know where they are and who they’re with. But life can change in a heartbeat, so can circumstances, places and people and, as a result we never remain the same. Change is often good, sometimes bad, but always constant. The Publisher takes you into the lives of the Smelt family. Joe, Suzanne and their two children, six year old Libby and thirteen year old Connor.
It is a normal school day just like any other, until Joe – the publisher – begins reading a manuscripts. In the manuscript he learns that his children are not at school. They have been kidnapped and are being held hostage until the ransom is paid. Each detail of what he must do is precisely laid out as another page of the manuscript unfolds. Suzanne has done someone wrong and, if she can right the situation her children will go free, if not, they will die. And so, they sit and wait for the knock on the door and the next installment of the manuscript that holds within its pages their children’s fate.
