Sebastian Junger who is the author of the movie producing book, The Perfect Storm and his newest book "War" which is associated with the newly released film "RESTREPO" will be joining the crew at You Served Radio to talk about his time in Afghanistan and the book and movie that came out as a result of that time.

Today we'll be discussing the 12 year anniversary of the Columbine shooting, and the effects its had on our country since. We'll also discuss the unfortunate passing of Tim Hetherington, a photojournalist and co-director of Oscar-nominated war documentary "Restrepo," who was killed by an explosion Wednesday while covering battles between rebels and Libyan government forces.

First up will be 'Sons of Anarchy' stars Theo Rossi (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0744331/) and Kim Coates (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0167649/). Theo plays the character “Jean Carlos ‘Juice’ Ortiz” and Kim plays "Alex 'Tig' Trager" on the show. Both are very accomplished actors with long resumes in the film and TV Industry. Kim and Theo are very involved with USO tours and the Boot Campaign. The Boot Campaign is a grassroots initiative started by 5 women from Texas known as the Boot Girls. The Boot Campaign provides an easy and tangible way for Americans to show support of our troops (both past and present) that’s practical and directly benefits our military who are returning home from active duty. Proceeds from boot sales are donated to partner charities, includ- ing Lone Survivor Foundation, which assist returning veterans dealing with PTSD.
In the second hour we will be talking to Adam Gordon. Adam was a soldier featured in the book Landigal by James Christ. James is a past guest of You Served Radio and an accomplished author who has written 5 books about ETTs and large but mostly unknown battles in Afghanistan. Adam was a member of A co, 1/32 INF, 10th Mountain Division and served in the Korengal Valley long before it became famous in the movie Restrepo.
