Designing for Millennials: What do they want? Tune in.

    in Design

Curious about what millennials are expecting from home design? We're talking with designer Courtney Rogers about designing for millennials. Join us!

We've all heard about the differences between GenX and the generation raised on iPads and on-demand entertainment. And we've seen the stats on how home buying trends have been decreasing among the millennial generation.

So what do designers and remodelers need to know about the millennial generation to attract and retain their interest in our work? We're talking with designer Courtney Rogers, recently recognized as one of the National Kitchen and Bath Association's '30 under 30,' and '40 under 40' for Professional Remodeler magazine.

The 28-year-old Atlanta-based designer specializes in kitchens and baths, and is sharing what we need to know about designing for millennials.

"I'm a passionate, driven, and supremely organized over-achiever who loves my family, my Georgia Bulldawgs, and my creative outlet... design," --Courtney Rogers

Denny Chuba from Chuba Company and David Harvey, student from Minnesota School of Business join Kevin Hunter and David Ford on The Business Forum Show tonight. Chuba Company is a residential and commercial builder and remodeler, and has been featured on the hit TV series "Bath Crashers."

Have you discovered the keys to your success in business? Unfortunately, most business people haven't figured out what they need to do to increase their odds of success. This explains why 40% of the 1,000,000 people who start a business venture each year end of failing in the first 12 months. 80% end up failing before 5 years, and 96% never see a 10 year anniversary in business. Would you start a business if you knew your chances of success were only 4%?

    Keys to Success in Business

    1. Have Clear, Written, Goals and Objectives.

    2. Have a solid Strategic Plan - the "How to accomplish your goals"

    3. Step outside your Comfort Zone

    4. Get an outside influence involved in your business.

The keys or steps outlined above sound simple, but establishing them and getting it right is not. Join us each week day as we talk about all the issues and challenges business people face, and how you can effectively implement and use the four keys to give you a 75-80% chance of success in anything you do.

    Builders & Fire Safe Councils

    in Education

One of the many ideas I have brought to the Shasta County Fire Safe Council is the initiation of builders to the committees. Builders offer inside information to the mitigation of real property and can 'see' issues arising that corrected would give valuable time to First Responders. Focusing upon the Wildland Urban Interface, the builder, or correctly said, qualified remodeler, will upgrade the structures to class A requirements and give homeowners piece of mind. This is acheived through a carfully thought out plan for builders to be 'initiated' to the general public via the Fire Safe Councils for home consultations. The twist is that in order for the builder to be part of the plan (which offers ROI) he must become a member of your local Fire Safe Council. So listen in and see how it works. Also call in 646-652-4437 with your input.
