Doctors of the USA welcomes Lori-Ann Martell, LPN, CMPE, the Practice Administrator of Advanced Medical Center of Naples, LLC, to talk about the basics of healthcare reform, what does it really mean for consumers and how this affects them.
Lori-Ann is the Practice Administrator of Advanced Medical of Naples, LLC, in Naples, Florida for 13 years. AMC is a family practice urgent care center with 10 providers caring for patients 7 days/ week, AMC is a modern practice delivering health care to both privately insured and occupational health patients. During the course of her employment she has assisted her Medical Director in growing the practice from 3 providers to 10 and from 21 staff to 74.
Lori-Ann has been a nurse for 27 years in both family practice and acute cardiac facilities and is certified as a medical practice executive with MGMA (Medical Group Managers Association) and is currently completing her fellowship with that organization. She also is the owner of a private consulting firm that provides administrative support and billing services to many physicians and surgery centers within Florida.
Lori-Ann is an advisory member for local nursing schools, and is also President of her local MGMA, and a board member of her state chapter. She is a guest speaker for many local, state, and national organizations.
Lori-Ann resides in Estero, Florida with her husband, 2 children and 2 dogs.

Obama is not doing right by keeping the Gun Control issue fore front. He should be talking about Immigration Reform, Jobs, Deficits. Obama's budget is ridiculous. Cutting Social Security and Medicare is what Obama won his campaign on. Democrats hate the idea of cutting Social Security so he is making enemies of his own party. The sequester was signed by Obama with no pushing to do it by congress. The results of the sequester is that Obama signing the sequester will destroy the people that trusted him, voted for him and above believe in him. Immigration should be the main topic now but gun control has taken center stage. I am a black woman and I simply do not respect Obama. Abraham Lincoln went through a lot with congress and made it being for the people. Obama wants to change for congress and eat the people that put him there. Why don't you do the math and weak up. Ase

Place a lock on US citizenship and student visas for 2 years. Only people from the 28 nations that are part of NATO would be able to get US citizenship or a student visa during that time. This lock would not apply to people trying to get a H-1B Visa. There is no quick fix to the many problems in our Immigration system. We need time to get it right. Pedro Noguera and The Trouble with Education Reform
Dr. Pedro Noguera is the Peter L. Agnew Professor of Education at New York University. He is a world-renowned sociologist, researcher, and prolific author of several publications, including the seminal book, "The Trouble with Black Boys...and Other Reflections on Race, Equity, and the Future of Public Education."
Dr. Noguera will expound on his critique of current approaches to education reform that are too focused on privatization, high stakes testing, and punitive student discipline. Adult Adoptee Reform
Currently adult adoptees, in most states are unable to request and receive, like any other U.S. Citizen, their original birth certificate. Before the sealing of adoptions, birth cetificates for adoptees were available to them when they turned 18. The current law is archaic and cruel, considering that every other citizen of the US has the right to 'life, liberty and the pursuit' of happiness, except the ADULT ADOPTEE, who has become a SECOND CLASS CITIZEN

Black and White Men Talk About Dozier Reform School
Although they were segregated at Dozier Reform School in Marianna, Florida, they all shared some of the same horrible experiences as little boys at Dozier. The white boys could not go on the black side and the black boys could not go on the white side.
Both black and white boys were beat and whipped in a building call the White House. They all can recall moments in the White House that they wish they could forget.

What Happened to the Black Boys at Dozier Reform School?
In 1903, an inspection reported that children at the school were commonly kept in leg irons according to " Florida closing 111 year old reform school, United Press International, May 27, 2011, retrieved July 17, 2011." The one room white building with blood stains on the walls, beds and sheets, were used to beat black and white boys at Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys.
