The most memorable Cowboys regular season since 2009 is coming to a close Sunday at noon in Washington, as Dallas looks for their 12th win and an outside shot at a 1st round bye in the NFC Playoffs.
Let that marinate for a few seconds.
There's lots to discuss on this weeks show, including where Tony Romo falls on the short list of NFL MVP candidates, Jerry Jones' chances at Executive of the Year, and Jason Garrett's likelihood of being voted the league's best coach.
Dustin Copening, Jeff Bowers, and Jeff Feltman address those topics, get you up to speed on the key details of this weekend's Redskins game, and much much more.
Thanks for tuning in, and don't forget to tell 3 friends!
KD is joined by a veteran of the Cowboys media brigade, Clarence Hill, Jr. of the Forth-Worth Star Telegram. Chill drops knowledge bit after knowledge bit on the subject of judging morality of football players, the possiblity of guys changing and how it should be measured. He also weighs in on the transformation of Jerry Jones over the almost 20 years he's covered the team and then looks at the current state of the Cowboys compared to the playoff runs of '07 and '09.
Then, co-host Keith Mullins joins the fray as he and KD dissect the lack of grabbing a running back or defensive tackle, and then one-by-one look at all eight of the draft picks the Cowboys have brought into the fold.
It's your usual rock solid edition of Crunchtime, with everything you want to talk about concerning the Dallas Cowboys.
There may not be another team in the AFC w/ higher expectations in 2015 than the Indianapolis Colts. Fans still feel that the team was cheated during the AFC Championship game against the Patriots, & perhaps rightfully so. This team should have a chip on their shoulders after getting obliterated 45-7. Many believe this team is one step closer to obtaining another Super Bowl trophy & maybe they are. But if this unit is going to get over the hump then quarterback Andrew Luck has got to limit his turnovers. The guy threw 4 picks during last year's playoffs, including 2 costly INT's against New England. If he does that, there's no limit to what this team can accomplish. & w/ the off-season additions of wide receiver Andre Johnson & running back Frank Gore, Luck may finally have enough offensive help to capture a Lombardi trophy. Those guys may be nearing the end of their careers but they still have enough in them to make another Super Bowl run in 2015. I'm anxious to see what the defense will look like. Despite recording 41 sacks last year, this team still surrendered a lot of points, particularly in games against Pittsburgh & New England (twice). Bringing in linebacker Trent Cole is a nice pickup. He'll get a chance to help make that defense even better. There's a very bright future in Indy but can they live up to expectations? How will they respond after playing extremely poorly in the conference title game? Tune into "The Rocket Sports Breakdown" Tuesday June 30th @ 10:30am in another 32 for 32 NFL team coverage. Rocket Nation, get ready for a power trip.
KD is joined by Cowboys Insider Mike Fisher to discuss the upshot of the recent practices and rookie minicamp. Why is everyone talking about Greg Hardy ON the field? What was the takeaway from the La'el Collins signing? How is the cornerback situation going to play out?
Then, Keith Mullins joins the party as he and KD go over a roster projection and break down the few spots that are open to compeition. The Cowboys have improved the roster greatly over the years and now there is limited space for players with upside to make a deep roster. Position group by position group, things are dissected down to 53... err 54.
Even the most optimistic of Cowboys fans hesitated to predict more than 8 wins going into this season, but Dallas has a chance to pick up their 11th win of the season Sunday afternoon at AT&T Stadium. A win that would also give them the NFC East crown for the first time since 2009.
Dustin Copening, Jeff Bowers and Jeff Feltman take you back to last weekend's exhilerating victory over the Eagles, and get you up to speed on all of the details you need to know for the biggest game that no one saw coming four months ago.
The Chalkboard, the Numbers, and the predictions are coming your way.
Thanks for listening, and let a few friends know about the best damn Dallas Cowboys pre game show in all the land.
