Show hosts and professional artists, Wade Zahares, Mike Dubisch and Carolyn Watson Dubisch share insights and experiences from inside the art world. Joining them are guest artists, sculptors, photographers and curators from the United States and across the globe. Our first guest will be Jon Mooers. Set designer of more than two dozen movies inclucing Stargate, 1993, gallery owner, muralist, painter and nice guy, Jon Mooers from Amesbury MA. Also on the show will be Kyllan Maney from Tempe, AZ. A working professional artist who currently has a show called "Avian Nouveau" at GreenHAUS in downtown Phoenix. Kyllan loves to paint large scale murals and works on various projects for Mesa Art Center. Along with this, Kyllan is the Chair of the Visual Arts Department, teaching Painting and Mixed Media at New School for the Arts and Academics. We'll be talking with emerging artist, Afton Kern. Afton is a self taught artist who is currently attending Cosumnes River College. She is pursuing a degree in Biology with a special focus on Arachnology and a minor in Anthropology. Afton studied Anthropology under Dr. Peggy Scully for one year, and in doing so spent many hours in the Anthropology lab studying bones and skeletons of various primates. During her Freshman year in High School, she spent the summer working on her art with renowned portrait artist Lorraine Bollinger who has been an important inspiration. Afton believes that drawing from life is the most important aspect in understanding form and function. Join us for great conversations in art.

Join artists and show hosts, Mike Dubisch, Carolyn Watson Dubisch, and Wade Zahares as they talk to artists, sculptors and other members of the art world. Our first guest is an artist from Tucson, Arizona. Matt Cotten is the artistic director of Puppets Amongus. He writes, fabricates and performs puppet presntations. His passion for puppetry grew out of his rich history as a visual and performing artist. He is one of the original artistic directors of Tucson's famous All Souls Procession, as well as being the co-founder and co-director of his past troupe, Tucson Puppet works. He is also a painter and for more than ten years taught painting and drawing at the University of Arizona. Our second guest is painter Pam Akins from Sparks, Maryland. Pam is a graduate from the Maryland Institute College of Art and has a masters degree in painting from Queens college in NY. She has been teaching art in the Baltimore county school system for nearly 30 years. While raising 2 children with her husband and artist, Jeff, she has been painting the Maryland landscape. She shows her work in several galleries in the Baltimore area. Listen in for your window into the world of art.
Wade Zahres, Mike Dubisch and Carolyn Watson Dubisch interview artists, sculptors, and designers from all over the world and from all walks of life. Our first 2 guests will be Jon Sanchez and Austin Zachary from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jon studied art and design at New Mexico State. He considers himself an illustrator first and foremost. Although, he has engaged in various forms of art mediums for most of his life. Jon has been designing and screen printing gig posters for bands since 2008 using the name “JONITO”. His posters are drawn/inked by hand, digitally separated, and hand-pulled using acrylic inks. He also does graphic design work such as logo design, political brochures, magazine layout and corporate identity. He is currently working on his first mini comic with his friend and co-worker Austin Zachary. Austin Zachary is a cartoonist, animator, and illustrator. He has created several cartoons; Shaved Monkey and Furr E. Beaver and The InsideOut, which runs monthly in the ABQ Sports Magazine. His animations include cartoons and music videos. Our next guest is Phoenix artist, Annie Dunn. From her obscure beginnings as a doughnut peddler and obsessive doodler in northwestern Iowa, Annie moved to the big city in search of something called computer graphics. She now spends her days painting colorful creatures and other oddities using a Wacom tablet and stylus. Although verified public sightings are rare, Annie is rumored to live with her husband and a clowder of cats and dogs in the suburbs of Phoenix Arizona. The show will end with a discussion of the Spark show at the River Tree Arts Gallery in Kennebunk Maine. The show is a glimpse inside the minds of Maine's iconic illustrators. Curated by our own Wade Zahares, feauturing the art of Dahlov Ipcar, Cathryn Fawell, Hazel Mitchell, Chris Van Dusen, Matt Travares. Join us for a window into the world of art.
