On Sept 25 TVFMontana gave you a look see of how government public meetings were held in Granite County Montana. This is Granite County Commission's version of conducting a "public hearing".
This episode is the follow up. This audio that you'll hear is indicative of how meetings are conducted when credentialed "guests" aren't present. By "credentialed" I mean State, Federal, some NGO or half ass government/lobbyist group...like MACo. You'll hear the unedited recorded audio of the first reading of a county resolution. Believe me, this is not an example of the proper way to adopt a resolution. Then again ....maybe this is the new Kabuki government way.
Listen and then you decide.

Government nutrition guidelines is part of the reason why Americans are overweight and obese. According to the U. S. Government, the average person should have the nutritional habits of eating 300 grams of total carbohydrates a day. The Government doesn't acknowledge avocado as a fruit. The Government categorizes milk as a protein source when it has more carbohydrate calories. The Goverment has defined peanut butter and nuts as a protein source even though they're higher in fat calories. Discover in this show why the Government may be a large part of the problem for why obesity rates for children and adults continues to soar.

Stephen Lynch is the COO of RESULTSDotcom and author of Business Execution for Results: A Practical Guide for Leaders of Small to Medium-Sized Businesses. We've been friends since, Stephen always reminds me, 2005. when we met at a Growth Conference hosted by Verne Harnish of Gazelles.
You can listen to my interview of Stephen about his book here. You can read my review of his book here.
As he heard of my plans to write a book on Employee Engagement, he offered to write a chapter. It's titled Stephen's Story. In it he shares his personal journey towards recognizing the power of employee recognition and a simple two-step plan to make it a fixed part of his day. Every day.
I'll read Stephen's Story and let you hear the power of a simple approach to employee recognition.
If one were to examine the Biometric Modalities which are available today, the one technology which would stand out in terms of recognition by the public is that of Facial Recognition. Why is this so? Well, after the tragic incidents of 9/11, Facial Recognition, received a lot attention by the press and the media as the "cure all" technology for all of the security ailments present in the United States at the time. But when Facial Recognition failed to live up to its standards, it was ripped apart to shreds even as a viable technology. Also, Facial Recognition can be used very covertly, thus creating claims of privacy rights and civil liberties violations by the American public. In this radio show, we interview Mr. Joe Rosenkrantz, CEO of FaceFirst. From him, we will find out first hand how successful or not Facial Recognition actually is, and the kinds of deployments which they have implemented. We will also discuss with him the social implications of Facial Recognition, and what it means to the American society as a whole.
In the course of these radio shows, we have interviewed thus far two Biomeric Vendors whom specialize in scanning the eye for the purposes of verification and/or identification of an individual. So far, we have examined Sclera Recognition, as well as Iris Recognition. In today's interview, we interview Mr. Martin George, the CEO of Smart Sensors, LTD., based out of the United Kingdom. The UK can be considered the 'home' of Iris Recognition, as it was Dr. John Daugmann of the University of Cambridge whom developed the first set of commercial Iris Recognition algorithms. What sets Smart Sensors. LTD., today from the rest of the competition is that they are a 'one stop shop' for the customer wanting to use Iris Recognition technology. For example, they noy only offer various types of Iris Recognition hardware devices, but they also offer SDK's and database prototypes to meet the exacting needs of the customer. In this radio show, we learn from Mr. Martin George about their Iris Recognition products and services, what sets them apart from other Iris Recognition vendors, and what their plans and visions for the future are.
The Fingerprint has become the de facto standard not only for law enforcement, but for the world of Biometrics as well. Apart from Hand Geometry Recognition, Fingerprint Recognition has been around the second longest. There are many configurations availalbe with Fingerprint Recognition. For example, you can have local authentication with just one stand alone device, or, you can have a client server configuration, where many Fingeprint readers are connected to one central server. This type of set up is most common with very large organizations and businesses. Also, typically, when you use Fingerprint Recognition for Physical Access Entry applications, there is then the need to rip out the old locks and put in new electromagnetic lock strikes, wired to an access control reader. But, this may no longer be necessary. In today's interview, we talk with Mr. Bob Fee, Director of North American Sales for Zwipe AS, based out of Norway. They have come up with a brand new solution, known as known as a 'Match On Card'. In this interview, we learn more about this new technology, and how Biometrics can be a part of it. We also find out about the future of 'Match On Cards', and the promise they hold to keep Biometric deployments and configurations simple and easy to use.
The Supreme Court has decided not to hear the case of homosexual marriage. This caused the federal courts ruling to stand. But what does the Constitution say about marriage? Should government even be involved in marriage? Who gave us marriage? We discuss Article 3 of the Constitution and what power is given to the Judicial Branch and the 10th Amendment. We also talk about how no government should be involved in Marriage. We discuss the dangers of having faith in government, ebola, and the religion of statism in this show.
