I grew up on rap and R&B just like many other people in the community, but as I grew older, I started to look at our music through a different lens. Our music incites a lack of respect for women and black men. It promotes drugs, violence, and sexual promiscuity. How do I explain our music, and I have to explain, because it's the only view most of the world has of us African Americas, not to mention when my kids ask for the meanings of:

R&B Singer Brooke Valentine
