Here is the first half of the Random Brain Activity/Planned Parenthood Radio end of the year holiday special. Originally we meant to record just an hour or two but went for 3 hours of uncensored, unmoderated discussions on everything from pro-wrestling to football to television and movies to sex. The second half of the show will be uploaded Tuesday December 30th. This is just the first half though with Bully, The Punchline, Bob "The Producer", Terry Garvin Simms, and Don.
Another week has gone by and that just means more randomness from Extreme and the RRR crew. Tune in as they discuss recent news and events and hopefully keep it a little light. They will cover everything from the UN child abuse allegations, the convictions of Dustin Diamond (Screech from "Saved by the Bell") and Ross Ulbricht (creator of the Silk Road website), the massive flooding in Texas and the Central Plains and the passing of VP Joe Biden's eldest son, Beau. They do know how to keep it random.....................Viva la Revolution!!
Join Extreme, John "The Wire" McGuire and the rest of the RRR crew as they celebrate one year of the Random Radio Revolution...that's right - it's been one year since the RRR started up and WOW, what a year it has been! We will take a look back at some of our past episodes and, of course, bring you up to speed with what's going these days on here on the pale blue dot...................Viva la Revolution!
.Welcome to another episode the Brain Injury Roundtable. I am your host, Constance Miller, brain injury survivor of 32 years; author of the original brain injury owner's manual entitled From The Ashes. This innovative guidebook was featured on Super Bowl XXXIV. Miller is Managing Director of Brain Injury Resource Center, located on the Internet at http://www.headinjury.com. Also joining us will be Tai Campbell, my invaluable contributor who is a tireless community activist, and founder of Taken Back Our Community (TBOC) http://www.tbocnow.org. Also of note he is the survivor of an incredible history of childhood brain injuries. I'd like to thank: all our listeners for bringing our voices, to your home, or your mobile device wherever you are around the world. Additionally, I’d like to give a big thank you to this show’s sponsors: Martha Marcum, mother of a brain injury survivor and author of MARTHA'S FABLES and Gordon Johnson, attorney of http://www.TBILaw.com .
The Brain Injury Roundtable is a place for Ideas, discussion, and recovery for people seeking solutions, to bridge the gap between understanding brain injury and insights on how to change life for the better so be prepared to hear some great information to motivate and inspire us and change the world. The main reason we are tackling this topic this evening is that even a seemingly minor concussion can have life-long, life altering consequences. And that is the topic of tonight's discussion. The plan is to learn from one another and to educate one another about TBI and its aftermath. We know personally just how a traumatic even a concussion can be.
Join your boy Extreme and the Random Radio Revolution crew as they discuss events from the past week including last night's Mayweather-Pacquiao boxing match (or lack thereof) - was it really the "fight of the century?" - and the events as they unfold in Baltimore as a result of Freddie Gray's death. They will also have the "Hollywood Minute" along with other randomness and whatnot! Don't sit on the sidelines!!! Join in and be a part of the discussion............Viva la Revolution!!
What is happening here? Is the sky falling or are we being manipulated into believing so? If you keep up to date on the real happenings (not the news) then maybe you see what Extreme sees............. Maybe not. Is our future bright and rosey? Or are we in for a rude awakening? Is this change you can believe in?....Or has nothing really changed at all? Change is the only constant in the universe.... But what are we changing into? Join the Extreme and the RRR crew as we dive head first into these thoughts and many more on the Random Radio Revolution.............God help us all....... ........ Viva la Revolution
That's right we are back after a week off. Sorry to anyone who tried to listen last week, we had to cancel last minute. Tune in to hear that story. Many of us have hard days in life just as anyone else does but with a brain injury, coping strategies are hugely different.
Positive reinforcement may need to come from family, friends, and caregivers but how can we do it within ourselves?
Emotional impacts on the brain injured have a different level than the general public but it isn't impossible to achieve rewards through positive coping strategies. Let's discuss what we do to help, ideas what may be better, and alternative measures than medication.
We have a weekly conference call Mondays for anyone who would like to learn about brain injury and share their stories:
US Toll Number:
At the scheduled date and time of the meeting, dial into the conference line. When prompted, enter the meeting ID followed by the pound key. To join the online meeting, click on the meeting link listed above and follow the prompts to join the meeting.
Juliet Madsen has served in the US Army since she was 17-years old. She was involved in Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. While serving her country, Juliet suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury and at least one stroke, which changed her life forever.
Every TBI survivor and caregiver has encountered a fork in the road that has diverted his or her life-plan. A car accident, a fall from the roof, doing one more chin-up, an IED blast, or a door literally slamming one in the face are just some causes of traumatic brain injury. College, walking down the aisle in the perfect dress, or the coveted job quickly slips from reality as dreams turn to struggle. These unexpected life-happenings that divert one from his or her chosen path in life can be devastating.
But as Yogi Berra once said, “If you come to a fork in the road, take it.” Life is all about choices!
