Tonight I will be talking with Natasha Hagan, rape survivor and supporter of RAIIN (Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network) and TeamStrick. FROM NATASHA: I am Natasha Hagan and I am a survivor of sexual assault and rape. Thanks to finding RAINN in 2010 through Actress 'KaDee Strickland' and her role on the (now cancelled) ABC Show 'Private Practice', i was able to come forward about what happened to me. I also reached out to help via RAINN's hotline. As I started to speak out and make friends with other survivors who spoke out thanks to RAINN, I was able to find my own way to give back and advocate sexual assault awareness. That is when 'TeamStrick' was born. " ‘TeamStrick’ was started as a way to support actress, now advocate, ‘KaDee Strickland’ and her efforts with the phenomenal ‘RAINN’ (Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network) organization. We all know the severity of sexual assault. Through KaDee's influence and our own personal incentives, our goal is to spread awareness, raise funds for RAINN, and to get survivors the help they rightfully need and deserve. Join us. Together, as a team, we can make the world a better place. Let's follow KaDee's lead." Not only do I run 'TeamStrick', but I also am an author for the 'Survivor Manual' and writer, editor and sole-creator of 'Celebs Go Charity'. Look forward to talking about all of this more on the radio. If you have questions, please share them with me so i can answer them. If you can donate even $1 to our campaign to help raise money for RAINN, that would also be great. http://rainnmakers.rainn.org/RAINNSupportersDay
If you are the victim of sexual trauma and abuse, my guest Reverend Lail Ann Haynes will leave you feeling empowered and ready to allow love into your life.
Lail Ann Haynes is a native Oklahoman, an Ordained Non-Denominational Minister, a "Mother Teresa" to those she ministers to, and most importantly, she is a Survivor. Her life journey has been filled with severe trauma, including incestuous rape beginning at the age of 3, severe domestic violence, suicide, and a debilitating autoimmune disease leaving her bedridden for almost 2 years.
Today Reverend Lail is a whole and happy woman in a loving and supportive marriage with the love of her life. She is the mother to 3 beautiful children, and she has ended the pattern of generations of abuse. Through the love of her husband and her spiritual belief system, Reverend Lail has learned to love after abuse.
Reverend Lail is dedicated to helping others heal from the trauma caused by family rape and abuse, and shares her story to help others recover. She helps them learn to love… and to be loved… again.
Reverend Lail is an avid supporter of RAINN, the acronym for Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network, where she counsels and supports victims. In spite of her own physical limitations from autoimmune disease, she works diligently to increase awareness of this invisible illness. When health permits, Reverend Lail volunteers for local rape crises centers and as a Suicide Prevention Specialist in Oklahoma City.
Our conversation today will delve into both the darkness of abuse and the light of recovery. Please join me for a powerful conversation with this remarkable woman.
You can find Reverend Lail sharing her light and love via her website, ValIntuition and on Facebook.

Every TWO MINUTES another person is a victim of SEXUAL ASSAULT. Is this the reality of our country today? WnT Board Member and Vice President Rebecca Balog will join President Billie Fidlin to discuss domestic violence and sexual assault & recovery in Indian Country.
APRIL IS SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH
It is estimated that 1 of every 6 women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime, according to the Rape Abuse Incest National Network (RAINN). This number is about 1 in 33 for American men. Approximately 15% of sexual assault and rape victims are under age 12. Domestic violence is the leading cause of injuries to women age fifteen to forty-four, more common than auto accidents, mugging, and cancer combined.
All Americans can play a role in changing the culture that enables sexual violence. Each of us can take action by lifting up survivors we know and breaking the silence surrounding rape and sexual assault. Together, our Nation is moving forward in the fight against sexual assault. This month, let us keep working to prevent violence in every corner of America, and let us rededicate ourselves to giving survivors the bright future they deserve.
